They really ruined the playoffs........fucking old white guys in suits that never stepped foot on a field of athletic endeavor, let alone one with the kind of money their players play on.......have the nerve to suspend two key Suns players for jumping out of their chairs and reacting.....gasp.....angrily to their star player and "real" league MVP being board checked into the scorers table........they never got involved in any melee whatsoever. Unbeleivable......I'm not even a huge suns fans......before the other night, I actually kind of liked the Spurs. I'm sorry, if I'm on the Suns team.....and it's getting late into the 4th quarter and there's no hope for us winning the series..........Duncan and/or Parker are taking a season ending shot. No way I let Horry get rewarded for being a hockey enforcer.

you didn't think it was a nice hip check? put a wall there and Nash would have been a "spot" on it.....

The spurs are full of shit.
They've got to be happy about the supensions, 1 role player for a star and role player?
It's funny how spurs fans want to talk about nash flopping, they've got the best flopper in the league.

wait, they didn't say Nash flopped on that hip check did they?? If so that tells me one very clear thing..........San Antonio is filled with utter shit for brain laden asshats that don't understand A) simple physics and B) the game of basketball.

Listen to sports talk radio, all the SA fans that call in say he barely got touched. They also say Bowens "momentum" made him kick stoudimire in the leg. And he was pivoting when he kneed Nash.

I'm a diehard cavs fan, and if that was Lebron forearm checking Nash like that I'd say OUT.....for the rest of the playoffs, sorry. But I don't think I ever have to worry about Lebron being that classless...we'll see. And the Bowen kick, which I didnt' see until now....is unbelievable!! He's clearly trying clip stoud's heels......his body movement is not that of someone setting, it's that of someone balancing himself for kicking out a foot very far.

He does that alot. Ray Allen up here in Seattle hates playing him. He'll do stuff like, when you go up for a jump shot, he'll stick his foot under you, so you land funny and twist an ankle.

Couldn't say.

I don't watch bball.

I love going to hockey games when I can.....no team in my area.......but watching on TV sucks. For that sport you have to go see it......than it's like the greatest atmosphere you've ever been in. I saw a red wings/'lanche game a few years ago.......unbeleivable!!

LMAO.

That little brush up against whitey is considered bad?

I feel dirty now for watching a bball clip.

Luckily I am getting a good ab working out laughing at that little touch being compared to an enforcer in hockey though.

Maybe he should have just blown on him so he could fall over?

i think they should just suspend the whole game of professional bball.. just my oppinion.. find some other guys that are not thugs and then reopen for business. maybe this is their message to the the players in the league with this suspension that was handed down. think about the crap these guys have done on and off the court in the past couple of years.. unbelievable..

Nothing compares to live games.

Avs/wangs games are always great.

I played hockey for 15 years and I have to say I love watching it on tv as well.

Never could get into bball though.

1 Nash wasn't the MVP nor did Dirk earn something he didn't deserve
2 Rules are rules
3 The rule doesn't state you have to be physically involved
4 Has nothing to do with whether they are key players or not
5 Suns won last year without Amare just fine, they have plenty of depth

I was expressing an opinion that Nash was the "real" MVP....hence the quotation marks, I know Dirk won the award. Dirks awesome and I do like him, but I think Nash deserved it more......Nash does more for his team IMO than Dirk does. And I know what the rules say, but it was still up to the league office to enforce them......and in this case they didn't have to, they just didn't. There's no way a teammate of yours takes a hit like that and you "dont" come out of your seat.........they controlled themselves by not getting even "remotely" physically involved.......so if you have to do something then fine them......but to take them out of the playoffs at this juncture is actually rewarding the hit job Horry did.

I agree they should take into consideration that this is a highly publicized playoff game and the fact amare and diaw didn't get involved should have been grounds for a fine rather than a suspesion. But the fact it is so highly publicized is prolly why they enforced the suspensions.. Tim duncan ran out on the court earlier that game BEFORE it got all dirty yet he was not suspended. Although I think Horry's suspension was called for due to such a hard, completely unnecessary foul inches from someones head.

Here's a snippet of what the sports guy (Bill Simmons on espn.com) had to say. Agree 100%.

Let's say you're one of the best seven players on the Phoenix Suns. You love Nash -- he's your emotional leader, your meal ticket to the Finals, the ideal teammate and someone who makes you happy to play basketball every day for a living. He's killing himself to win a championship. His nose was split open in Game 1. His back bothers him to the point that he has to lie down on the sidelines during breaks. He's battling a real cheap-shot artist (Bruce Bowen) who's trying to shove and trip him on every play. But he keeps coming and coming, and eventually, everyone follows suit. Just as things were falling apart in Game 4 and you were staring at the end of your season, he willed you back into the game and saved the day.

Suddenly, he gets body-checked into a press table for no real reason on an especially cheap play. You're standing 20 feet away. Instinctively, you run a few steps towards the guy who did it -- after all, your meal ticket is lying on the court in a crumpled heap -- before remembering that you can't leave your bench. So you go back and watch everything else unfold from there. Twenty-four hours later, you get suspended for Game 5 because your instincts as a teammate kicked in for 1.7 seconds.

Think about how dumb this is. What kind of league penalizes a teammate for reacting like a good teammate after his franchise player just got decked? Imagine you're playing pickup at a park, you're leading a game 10-3, your buddy is driving for the winning layup, and and some stranger clotheslines your buddy from behind and knocks him into the metal pole. Do you react? Do you take a couple of steps towards him? I bet you do. For the NBA to pretend they can create a fairy-tale league where these reactions can be removed from somebody's DNA -- almost like a chemical castration -- I mean, how stupid is that?

barkley agrees
TNT's Inside the NBA is the best sports show
charles tells it like it is
esp. concerning race issues

man, if the game get's out of reach for the suns.......I pray to god that "man" instinct kicks in and somebody makes sure the spurs don't have one of their best players for the next series. I know that sounds like cheap thuggin, but hey....it is what it is........bowen and Robert "the hitman" Horry have been trying their best to beat the crap out of the suns star players for the whole series, cause they know they can't run with the suns. So it is what it is........even though I like Duncan and Parker, one of them has to get taken out.

not a good scenario

the nba ruined the entire outcome of the nba finals.. i could really care less at this point.. if they win ill watch them go to the finals and beat detroit if they lose i wont be watching anymore playoff basketball..

not really they played great..
I thought Nash was inconsistent
he made about a half dozen errors in the second half
unforced turnovers and other lapses
while ginobili sank three 3pointers in about a 2minute stretch

Very true and that was a direct result of them missing Stoudemire and Diaw. They were able to gang up on Nash and you could tell he was exhausted. Really is too bad the NBA couldn't have exercised a little common sense and not decided the outcome of the best series in the playoffs and the likely champion.

nash never plays as much as he did last night i dont think he sat out the entire 2nd half he's like 34 years old.. sorry but he can't win the entire game himself..

D Stern was on Dan Patrick's radio show. Patrick was making the point of how the rule decided the outcome of the game. Stern's point (and he was pissed........being a bit reactionary IMO) was that the rule didn't decide the outcome, the players that broke the rule are the ones to blame. I agree with this. It's a rule........follow it or pay the penalty.
Now when this season is over they need to change the damn rule. It's not realistic.

and to further that sentiment, the game was close as hell last night
it was the suns to lose.
if they (phx) got blown out, then you could claim the suspension determined the game...but they didn't

eh thats idiotic.. we could also say had amare or diaw been there it would have been a blowout.. it can go both ways..

the rule is a bullshit rule plain and simple.. and it ruined the outcome of the entire nba season..

Well if thats the rule, Duncan should have got suspended too. They say he didn't go on the floor during an altercation, but he went out when the tensions were high, somebody got fallen on. What was his ass doing going out there?
If the rule is the rule, then he should have sat last night.
At about .07 thats duncan on the floor.

they fucked that up last night, regardless of suspensions

I was told that Stoudemire commented on this.........and he was ok with it saying something like, "My intentions and Duncan's intentions were very different"....if this is true I applaud Stoudemire..but there is a problem here.............and it goes to your alluding to it being left up to opinion. The rule should be on a case by case basis. Is it fair? What the fuck isnt unfair? They need to do the best they can.

as bluepeter pointed out he was suffering from fatique
him and two other suns played 45 minutes

so yes the NBA admin stole the game for the spurs
disgraceful

anybody who watches the NBA and isn't a spurs fan will be pulling for phoenix friday

Sure it did. There's no way San Antonio wins that game if Stoudemire and Diaw were playing. Their absence allowed the Spurs to focus almost entirely on Nash, wearing him out and forcing him to make several uncharacteristic mistakes.

i think the only people on the planet who likes the spurs are people from san antonio.. so either people are rooting for the suns or against the spurs..
