i can't belive you people think you can just take meth....there is a difference between adderrall(d-amphetamine) and methamphetamine. Meth is an entire nother animal....it is VERY adddictive, actually kills pleasure sensors in the brain...you guys should go to www.erowid.org and some other popular rec drug sites to learn the dangers of this shit. Ice is nothing but smokable or "free base" meth, same shit even more addictive....but none of those are anythying close to the prescribable stimulants such as adderall, ritalin, etc
Please show us the pharmacology behind your assertion. A poison or toxin is defined by the dose. All chemicals are toxic, it is a matter of amounts.
Methamphetamine is more potent on a mass basis, than amphetamine, due to its increased penetration into the blood brain barrier. This only means that it requires less meth than regular amphetamine to produce an effect. In mice studies, the neurotoxic dose is 40mg/kg i.p., this dose extrapolated in humans is huge and anyone who uses this dosage is retarded; no different than the idiot who takes several grams of Tylenol to kill his pain and blows out his liver.
Given that meth is simply stronger version of amphetamine and my desired effect is the countering of fatigue, then I take the amount required for this, not more. Thus I receive the benefit of the medication without the side effects.
Addicts and recreational drug users do not care about this. Their goal is pleasure, which requires much higher doses, and thus greater side effects. Plus chronic use of escalating doses, in search of the drug induced high, increases the risk of neurotoxicity and cardiovascular side effects.
All of the problems are related to carelessness and escapism. For people who are not desiring "nirvana", side effects are minimal. The concept that any dose causes disease and addiction is childish thinking. Methamphetamine addiction rate is aroung 6% of those who have tried it; a far cry from "highly addictive".
