Workout with an upper-respitory infection or not?

We've all seen the working out while sick threads, which are usually in regards to colds. What do you guys think about working out with an UR infection? I worked out yesterday, all doped up on Day-Quil. Some lifts were okay and others were not. I was mad tired afterwords before getting a second wind later on. I started my cycle last week. I skipped cardio today and am scheduled to workout tomorrow. Thoughts?

I can only really answer for myself but if i was feeling under strain from the infection then i would give myself sometime off. I would say if its affecting your normal lung function then skip it. Missing a few days is better than running your self down possibily making the infection worse.

Its a judgement call on your part, sorry i cant really help , thankfully havnt had a chest infection for a long time.

i think people should workout when they are sick, the old "sweat the cold out" theory, but i dont think it will increase your gains due to the fact that you are weak when you are sick as your bodies primary objective is to fight the cold, not the weights, but working out while sick i believe can keep those gains constant until you feel better, thus no harm done
