Workout - Wanting to hit chest twice...

Ok, I'm wanting to put more emphasis on my chest - It is a bit out of proportion to everything else. I have wide shoulders/big rib cage/thick abs, and I have a hell of a time getting my chest to grow. Here is a general idea of what I have in mind..

Day 1 - Chest
Day 2 - Back/Bi's
Day 3 - OFF
Day 4 - Shoulder's/Tri's
Day 5 - Legs
Day 6 - OFF

Then repeat...I'm wanting to hit chest twice a week so I'm thinking about throwing some in on day 4. Any recommendations on how I should divide up the chest lifts? Any other suggestions are welcome...

you mightnt need to train your chest twice a week bud if you train it correclty once a week

Not sure what your chest workout is but maybe on Day 5 just do incline bench first before legs. Your workout is similar to mine, mine is like:
Day1-Back
Day2-Shoulders,Tris
Day3-Off
Day4-Legs
Day5-Chest, Bis

What I do is Incline Bench on day one, and then flat bench, and DB Bench with palms facing in on chest day. I am not sure what you sets and reps are like. But if you ran the flat bench, and incline bench with 5 sets of 5 I think you would see results.

personally i wouldnt work biceps with back, due to the fact that is limits the workout you will get on one or the other, you use biceps to work your back . Just my opinion. And to work chest 2 times a week depend on 2 things, what are you trying to accomplish and what does your chest workout look like.

My chest routine:

6 Sets Flat Barbell bench Press (6-12 reps) 1 warmup

6 Sets Flat DB Presses(6-12 reps)

6 Sets Incline Barbell Bench Press

6 Sets Pec-Dec(Machine Flies)

You may not need as much volume, as I am a very advanced lifter. Do my exact regimen, with 3-4 sets for each moevement, and see me in 4 weeks.

If you would like to hit chest twice a week, train according to Arnold's "Priority Principle". With this, I leave you do conduct the remainder of your research.

Remember, working each muscle 2 times per week is FINE, so long as you are sufficiently FED, RESTED, and JUICED. :)

I ALWAYS have believe in hitting chest twice a week or at least twice every 8 days

prefer to do it with delts too

I het chest twice a week, once heavy/low reps and once light/high reps. It has done very well for me over the last three months.

Mon Chest (heavy)
Tues Back (heavy)
Wed Legs/shoulders
Thurs Chest (light)
Friday Back (light)
Sat Arms
Sun rest/cardio

Top Bottom
