Working same muscle group AM and PM too much?

I work at a gym. I usually work out in the mornings, and some mornings I'm rushed so I don't get to do as many exercises as I'd like to do. Sometimes when i'm working at night, the last hour or so before closing is dead and I can work in a few sets. Is it overkill to say, do a few more sets of pull-downs in the pm when back day was the am, or to do some leg extensions at night when quads were in the am and I didn't get a chance to do them? Or should I just sleep less and do everything at once?

How many sets/minutes does it take you to do abs?

After doing squats in the AM...how can you possibly feel the need to do leg extensions in the PM?

b fold... if you're a man, and you want to grow, you'll have the balls to try some easy extensions before your legs are even sore from the morning squats :) I'm going to give it a try. At 5000+ cals/day and on gear, can't hurt me really.

they do work though. all said and done they give good results.

Believe me, my dad has had arthroscopic surgery on both his knees, so I take extra precautions with mine. They never hurt and I intend to keep them that way. And since I'm not an easter-block weight-lifter, I can't do squats twice a day, so leg extensions seemed like a good evening exercise to help finish legs off and flush more blood in there before i'm done for the evening. If you have other ideas or examples please feel free to share, I'll listen to anything at least once :)

i say you should go ahead and track your progress carefully, and let us know how it goes bro!

maybe we can even toss this thread into one of the training sticky threads if it goes well!

i actually heard a programm (dont have any more info on how sucessfull the person who told me about it was, as i havnt seen them since they day they told me about it )where you lightly train for the group you are doing the next day, after your current day.

so say you work chest, kill it, then after for like 10 mins tops, do like leg press, or leg extensions and leg curls, or maybe 4 sets of light lunges. get the blood in, work it a little but nothing hard.

then the next day kill legs, and then do like 50 pullups. then the next day go in and kill your back, and do some flys or light presses at the end.

etc.

Just so you know you're calling out a professional strongman who squats 700+ lbs.

As this is only a borderline personal attack I'm going to let this go. But I am warning you that if you cross the line any further I will take action. Keep this forum friendly and informative or you won't be allowed here.

And you're calling out a professional pharmaceutical wizard, double-major in human performance degrees, NSCA certified Strength and Conditioning specialist, and I can also squat 500lbs at bodyweight of 190. And btw, in case you missed it, there was a SMILEY in there... meaning it was meant as a light-hearted jibe. If you're so pissy you can't notice or take a joke, perhaps you should not be a mod? When did this board get so... pathetic?

I'm thick skinned.

You will have to look hard before you will find someone with a harder nose than mine.

When I do mid-high rep squats...I walk funny for the next day or two. I can't imagine the NEED for much else, no matter what degrees one has, what they are taking, or what they have squatted before. I've squatted 5-6x per week before rotating box squats, OLY squats, and lots of front squats and my legs would recover fine. They weren't high rep or INTENSE though in that manner but focused on explosive power that would apply to other lifts.

Lifting for hypertrophy/growth...I think that most people can accomplish some pretty darn good quad development from a few sets of hard squats...the kind where you hit the floor and forge your name when you finish your set, then start praying to everything Holy.

I don't remember calling you out.

I am trying to avoid the old ways of this forum where everything turned into a flame fest. If you have a problem with that you are more than welcome to not come in here.
