Do you work out when you have the flu/cold, or do you take the week off? There seems to be alot of mixed research out there.

Well, I was sick last week, trained, and my Squat was down about 80 Pounds! Now, if that doesn't tell you something! Obviously got very little out of the work-out. As it was a general flu, I should have waited a few days more. If you are sick, relax a bit, take the few day off (put them down as rest days!) and come back in refreshed

I continue to lift but reduce the total number of sets. I feel less guilt if I at least do six sets per body part then if I do none.

I worked yesterday although I didnt feel the best. I dont like missing workouts, like everyone else, but I guess it comes down to chance wether or not youll be worse off if you keep woriking out. Granted it also depends on how sick you are, but for a minor cold or flu, I usually recover in 7 days or so, wether or not I workout.

IMO when you're sick, you need to rest and get better period. yes it SUCKS that you can't lift during these days and sometimes don't even feel like eating, try to keep the diet in check and drink tons of fluid. If you were to go to the gym sick, it would be a mental distraction too cuz all weight would feel HEAVY and you'd have alot less endurance etc.

I've always used this system. If it's a body aches type sickness I'll take off. If it's a head sickness I'll workout.

When you are sick, your body is under stress.
Don't put more stress on it. It will delay recovery from sickness.
You wouldn't gain much anyway.

I adhere to my weekly program no matter what. FOr me, if I have the flu and I work out, I get well... is like the workouts made me sweat the flue, or something. Is quite amazing in my experience.

Unless is a serious sickness, I keep my workouts the same.
