for every 1 guy who is abusive, there are 100 that kiss their ass and tell them how hot they are.

all they need to do is post a new avatar or gallery pic and everybody makes drool posts, and sends them boatloads of karma.

and the "tedious flirting" is flattery and attention. I dont think they mind much.

Ask Killahbee, he did his Doctoral thesis on this subject, he can probably give you more detail.
