It's more of an "overall style" matter than anything else. But a guy's choice of shoes would not keep me from getting to know a guy.....unless his shoes were seriously ugly, like neon green ugly...

The only thing that matters is that they are clean and go with the outfit. I don't like athletic shoes with casual wear. Only for the gym and sports etc.

Heres my formula for when i dress formal
new balance 800's + expensive suit = styling like don johnson

For me it's body/face, smile, hands...shoes would be pretty far down the list, but I do notice them. I don't care about brand, just that they're tasteful, clean, and in good condition.
A big turn off are gross hands, especially fingernails not trimmed short enough, dirty fingernails, or chewed fingernails.
