Sorry, I think I was giving good advice. It is terribly over-priced to stay and travel in NYC, maybe stay over in NJ and take the train in daily.

but I wouldnt take a 6 yr old to NYC for a vacation. if you want to see the sites and some shopping, do it on Adult Only time.

Take the kid to an amusement park or a beach

we camp every other week end...many lakes and beaches.

Fly into Newark. Rent a car. Find a hotel in jersey close to Manhaten. You will safe a shit load of money right there. You have a kid so Dave and busters is a cool place for him. Also the ESPN zone is awesome if hes into sports. Dont take any of those tour buses they are a waste you will get a better experiance if you just walk around and take taxis around. Go to Grenich Village to eat, lots of good food and a chill atmosphere down there. The museum of natural history is really cool if your into dinosaurs and space and shit. Pizza anywhere in the city is good. Just walk around and dont be rushed to do anything you will have a blast. Where you from?
