Withdrawal from Paxil sucks a big hairy one

Well, I was waking up at four or five every morning with terrible anxiety attacks, shivering and I could not go back to sleep. I also had problems with large gatherings. It did help me.

I'm not going to go into the why's -- but I was carrying a load that would have flattened 3 hardened men. There were elements of death, betrayal, suicidal bouts and more. In fact, those times marked the genesis of my moniker. A broken fucking machine. That was me.

Effexor was a tool (amongst others) that I used to get me from point A to point B in a temporary situation. It was a tool I abandoned after its usefulness had expired. After having been through all that, I doubt I will ever be as challenged again. Nor will I ever need it again.

I was on Paxil for about 2 weeks then I switched to Lexapro

that shit is da bomb diggity

try switchign rather than quitting

if I have to be on this shit for the rest of my life so be it

also my libido is actually higher too

I haev gained weight and strength

it's like being "on"

I heart that Serotonin levels are part of the regulation of HPTA--must have jump started my nat. test production

...does lexapro affect orgasm ability like most of the other AD's?..the only AD that doesn't affect my ejaculate is serzone,but serzone has lost most of its effectiveness for me(burn out kinda syndrome,apparently quite common with ADs)..I've done paxil,then serzone(stayed on 3 years,luvox,effexor and back to serzone..luvox was the best,after taking it for the first time before bed,the next day I popped out of bed like toast,felt great right off,until I found out I couldn't get off..so I tried effexor and it was about the same,great spirits and moods,but no jizz..so now I have some lexapro and I'd like to try it..the doc is female and she claims lexapro(improved version of celexa) doesn't have the sexual sides like other ADs..but hell she is female and can't really know how these damn ADs seem to adversely affect men more than women..any feedback?

I was prescribed Paxil shortly out of high school due to severe anxiety/panic attacks. I would get this feeling of heavy weight on my chest and not being able to breathe properly. The more I thought about it the worse it got. I had an EEG, an EKG, an echocardiogram, upper GI and many other tests. They never found anything wrong with me. I actually went to the ER once in tears cause I thought I was having a heart attack. Thats when the nurse suggested I my be suffering from anxiety. Went on Paxil and was fine for a couple years. Then I decided I didn't need it anymore. Spent the next 3 years or so trying to get off it.

I'm supposed to start my 10 mg Lexapro today, but I don't want to be on meds...period. Except for my Zyrtec (allergies). Psych meds suck. Fuck 'em all. I'll give this no meds thing a few weeks, see how it goes. If y'all see me on the news with an AK-47, you'll know it didn't go well.

did you guys gain weight while on paxill? i have a friend who use to be in good shape then she started taking it, then the weight started to follow. was wondering if it was because of it.

I'm telling you, get on inositol at 6-10 gr/day -- if you are a responder, which a lot of people are, it will help instantly; if I had known about inositiol, I might not have gotten on anti-d/anti-a drugs at all. You're right, meds suck -- you feel like a zombie after awhile. Sure, they take away the lows, but they take away the highs too (at least, that's what happened with me).

You can buy 300 gr of inositol at BAC for $7.

Lexapro does make me absentminded--but it's kinda fun and/or funny.

But it doesn't take away the highs, that's for sure.
