Withdrawal from Paxil sucks a big hairy one

Paxil withdraw is hell. It made me so damn sick in my stomach and gave me the trots when I quit. That's on top of the zaps (actually it felt more like a tingling sensation throughout my body) Plus I was grumpy as hell. I tapered off slowly too going down to like 5 mg/day. It took about 6 weeks to come off completely.

I'm on Paxil now and am trying to taper my dosage. Withdrawal is hell. I tried to quit cold turkey and I could not get out of bed. Listen to hardrock's advice.

If you take paxil when you DON`T need it, Do you get depressed? A friend did it and that`s what happened to her.

Try coming off with inositol at about 6-10 gr/day; helped me immensely when I was coming off Effexor and having devestating withdrawl symptoms...

I was on paxil for about a year and I hated it the whole time. So maybe that's why I didn't notice the withdrawl. Paxil blows.

WTF? Am I the only one that isn't on some type of Rx drug? Why were most of you put on this? Did you ask for it?

Do you really think you needed it? And I'm not being a smartass. I just can't fathom the idea of being dependent on something like that, but then again, maybe I've never dealt with the same anxiety some of you have.....Or I just live a sheltered life from Rx drugs....LOL. I don't even like taking antibiotics.

IMO, docs are too quick to perscribe drugs....especially to kids whose parents can't handle them.

Not knocking ya'll...just trying to understand.
