Withdrawal from Paxil sucks a big hairy one

This is total BS...

Been on Paxil 3 years, quitting cuz I'm sick of being on psych meds...was put on it for insomnia, but since Ive been working ou the last couple years no probs sleeping at all...

What the bastards don't tell you is that when you quit the damn drug, you start to get these electrical zap sensations in your face, feet and hands all day, you get dizzy, clumsy, cant form coherent sentences, vision blackouts, essentially I think my brain has said to hell with it, and is bailing on me.

Anyway, just wanted to vent. I'm just gonna go sit in a corner and mumble to myself for a couple of hours. Ta ta.

'twasnt my decision; was my doc's. Theres a bunch of lawsuits against the manufacturers of paxil for this very reason. They've banned the prescribing of Paxil to those under 18 because of the rate of suicide amongst teens on the drug. Reconsider? Hell, no.

I was on Paxil for 6 years. I tried many times to quit with no luck. FinallyI decided to taper my dose over a few month peroid. I was taking 40 mg day. Ten I went to 20 mg a day for a month. Then 10, then 5 each time for a month to let yourself adjust to the smaller dose. After the month on 5mg I didn't even realy feel the difference.

BTW, did Paxil ruin your libido, and make sex not as much fun anymore due to you inability to ejaculate? It's a very common side. Pretty much killed my relationship.

I think I am on the UK equivalant of that 'Seroxat' chemical name Paroxetine hydrochloride. 30mg a day. Anyway, I've jad just these problems when I've stopped taking it.

It is one if the mostl widely prescribed anti-depressents in the country. And I told the doctor I wanted Prozac, 'cause I'd had it before and it worked well with me

If I get any shit when I come off someone's gonna get sued. I was told it was the safest antidepressent on the market by my GP and psychiatrist.

SHIT. It is the same Paxil is called Seroxat in the UK, and I've been on 30mg of the shit for years.

holy shit yeah, withdrawals for me was terrible
i got the eletric zaps in my brain all the time, vertigo, couldn't concentrate on anything , took me about 3 months to start feeling normal again and about 3 more after that to have to basically resharpen my brain so that I could focus in on school and make good grades again...

I was on Paxil for about 2 weeks then I switched to Lexapro

that shit is da bomb diggity

try switchign rather than quitting

if I have to be on this shit for the rest of my life so be it

my quality if life os higher

also my libido is actually higher too

I haev gained weight and strength

it's like being "on"

I heart that Serotonin levels are part of the regulation of HPTA--must have jump started my nat. test production
