I was having trouble with windows milenium, so i installed XP... Before i was having trouble with something called WIN32... Now when i try to run some programs it tells me it is not a WIN32 program and it can't open... Also i am trying to install another program and even though i have 40gigs of free space it tells me that there is not enough room... It says something like filesize expected=79456954 filesize returned=79447837...

Whats wrong with it?

I don't know but I had problems installing XP & called Microsoft support. They nailed the problem in no time. Turned out to be a RAM problem. So just give MS support a call.

man I am running XP. I don't like it because some of my old programs like office2000, Easy CD creator deluxe don't have the right drivers. Seeing these are bootlegged programs I can't use them. Also XP automatically does updating for you, hence bootlegs may be problems

i was trying to load the new half life update... My roommate is running it with XP with no problems... I fixed the win32 problem...

But the problem with the filesize is till giving me trouble

if you look on the net you can find easy ways to disable auto updating.

I have the corporate edition of xp(no registering needed), and I guess it has all the bells and whistles. one of them being that I can turn off autoupdate, but I thought this was part of all windows oS, regardless. just look around in your control panel.

if you have the install disk run it and select "repair installation" if that doesn't work try running a disk doctor utility.. you might be having problems with your file system.
