Will you compete this year?

St. Louis, May 7th and 8th. Trying to qualify for Nationals.

I will NOT be lean though:)

I doubt I'd ever compete. For several reasons.

1) Take to damn long to shave all the hair off my body
2) I think posing looks silly
3) Buttfloss posing trunks are gross
4) Don't want to be THAT tan
5) Dieting to 5% bf is no fun
6) I'm damn near 47

I'm making my annual spring switch over to cycling. I hope to build up to 100 miles/week or so......gotta get in shape to watch the Tour de France on tv. ;)

I got a competition Sept 25th. I start my diet June 5th (16 weeks out) , first competition. Its a local one in NH so i hope to do well.. I think I will want to do 2 next year.

Taking favours... what favours? :qt:

Going to try and compete in events that don't require:
Tanning
Being Lean
Wearing posing trunks
Having a bunch of strangers judge what I look like.

Cheers,
Scotsman

I won't ever compete, I don't work out for that purpose.
There were a few times in my life that I was in shape enough to do it, but I do this for fitness/health not vanity.

I was speaking of competing in powerlifting and strongman. I hate dieting very badly so leaning up sucks for me. I still like meeting people and I'll leave the clen to you :)

You think those of us who compete do it for vanity? There's no way in hell that I'd go through 3 months of a strict ass diet for anything other than to wreck someone's day when I take my shit off at weigh in. I think that competitiveness not vanity. You can't go through what a bodybuilder goes through for the sake of vanity. It takes too much mental discipline and dedication to do it for anyone other than yourself.

To answer the question though, this year, yes. I'm taking next year off to become a light heavyweight.

I will also be competing in aformentioned non-skivies events...

You just described vanity orb.

Getting on stage, seeking the approval of judges.
Getting on stage, with the purpose of being judged better looking than others.

Sounds vain to me.

Vanity means seeking the approval or attention of others.

Whatever it takes for you to justify, in your own head, for not doing it is cool with me, maing. It's unfortunate that you are trying to make it look like there is something wrong with those of us who do though.

I don't lift enough weight to compete in PL meets. I may attend some though if they're ever close enough to me.

I understand you....most non-serious trainees will not.
