my wireless internet has crashed and burned... a linksys wireless-G 2.4 ghz, 54mps router.

i have internet service if i cable into the modum, but cannot get the wireless system running again.

all the usual flashing/blinking lights are there, but no wireless service.

i did the automated diagnosis service with cox communications, my internet provider, they say the modum is ok; my wireless router has issues.

is there anything to adjust or reboot or recycle, or do i just need to trash it and go out and buy another wireless router?

i have tried that several times, MM.....(it died yesterday am)....left it unplugged overnight...no joy today. :(

he didn't invent the internet

There should be a little "reset" button on the back of the router that sets the router back to factory defaults. you will have to set everything up again.

Before you do that, you can try to go to linksys.com and look to see if there is a firmware update for your product.

Odds are the transmitter burned out. I'd replace the sucker -- life's too short to keep hitting reset and crossing your fingers.

Unplug both the router and then modem from the power strip or wherever they're plugged in. Wait a minute at least and then plug the modem back in and then the router. Should be good to go. If not you might have go through your router's set up again. The power cycling always worked for me though in the rare instance it went down.
