Wide-grip upright rows

Lumberg

New member
What's up guys, I tried wide-grip upright rows (BB) ther day and my left wrist hurt too much to continue. Are there any alternative deltoid exercises that don't also exercise the triceps or chest?

(Besides deltoid machines)

Thanks,

JC

try using straps with your upright rows. then you are not gripping at a funny angle like you normally would, more just lightly holding onto your straps. Both of my wrists have been broken so I am in the same boat. I also use a pretty wide grip, slightly wider than shoulder width...hope this helps

Thanks for the tips. I forgot to mention that I can't do heavy side/lateral raises because I got messed up sholders. Heavywear, I will try the straps, I have to buy some anyway 'cos I just started Deadlifting (hells yeah!).

HW - How would this help? Straps would not really change the grip angle, just take a little pressure off. No?

Use upright rows with dumbells this would let the dumbells be able to rotate to a comfortable position. It is still the same movement. Or you can try using a EZ curl bar, this maybe a bettter grip for yourself.

i agree with him go with the ez bar, i experience a weird like twitch when doing close gripped bench press with a barbell, it feels like a vein popping but someone here told me it is prolly a tendon, newayz i switched to ez bar and it was gone with the new slanted grip.

I tried DBs I had a lot of trouble being strict as far as keeping my hands wide. I figured with the bar the width of your hands is fixed and therefore form is helped. I didn't think of the EZ curl bar, not sure if it's wide enough but I'll check it out next time.

BTW, anyone know how much one of those things weighs?
