Id be afraid to hit a man out of anger. LIke I said, once I broke my ex's nose (had to pounch him about 6 times square) but that was self-defense after he popped me in the mouth and made my lip bleed. Anyway long time ago (1991)....

But if youre at the point where you are hitting the other person out of anger, then there are real problems, serious ones. End it.

Bingo. That was the case with me. I was angry and frustrated and literally "beating him away." I used to hit him in my sleep.

I still think spousal abuse is mostly learned behavior; people who as children saw the dominant adults in their lives beat or get beaten generally grow up to beat up on or be beaten by their SO.

So I decide to stop at a cafe in the mall this morning to grab a mocha, morning is going great and all is good and pure in the world, when all of a sudden I hear some screamimg. I turn around just in time to see some assnozzle coldcock is woman and knocks her to the ground, right in the middle of the fucking mall!! Not many peeps around but no one does shit!! At this point the guy is bent over her with his hand around her neck screaming in her face and slapping her. I typically don't get involved in other peoples affairs but I can not stand around and watch shit like this.

Since no one is doing shit and security is no where to be found, I run over and drop kick this fucktard like I'm going for 3 points from 50 yards out. CONNECTION!!! I'm pretty damn sure I felt some ribs break as I lifted him about 2 feet off the ground. He hits the grouund and rolls a couple times while grabbing his chest. He looks up to see WTF just happened and sees me standing there, he actually starts getting up with a very pist look on his face. I told him to just stay the fuck on the ground or he was gonna end up there again. Dumbass actually tries to charge me!! I side step him and came over the top with a looping right, down across the side of his face and he goes down hard again. This time he ain't quite so anxious to get back up. Finally I see security running towards us, I leaned down to the guy and grabbed him by the back of the neck and told him if I ever happened to see him pull shit like that again, I wouldn't be so nice, then cracked his skull on the floor.

Well, I definately didn't need any assault charges so I took off running as security was screaming for me to stop, but there was no way those donut eating rent-a-cops were gonna catch me. There were plenty of witnesses around to stick up for the woman that he hit so I wasn't too worried about that.

I will just never ever understand what the fuck goes through a guys head that would make him treat a woman like that. NEVER!!

Right on. No one should be treated like that. And, we as a society have an obligation to stop it when we see it taking place.

No. Not back then, but I will now. At the first sign that the person may be violent or even if she screams at me, I'm outta there. Life's too short to put up with that shit. The ex wife slammed a door on my finger out of negligence because she was pissed off at me. I went out to eat and this black dude asked me what happened to my finger. I told him and he said, "Damn!! Bitch be cuttin yo' body parts off and shit, you better get away from that bitch!". LOL. That was some funny shit. But, the guy was right. I would have rather lost part of my finger than what she would do to me later. She's about to pay though. 7 years later and she's about to pay the consequences for her actions. Her daughter has nothing to do with her anymore and she's about to have to pay 1,000 per month in child support.

For all you know this woman who you thought you was sticking up for could have just murderd the guys whole family, highly unlikely but never the less possible, you should have just restrained the guy and let the authorities deal with him, by using violence your just sinking to his level. Also if this guy was hitting this woman for little or no reason then yea he probably does deserve a beating but why risk getting yourself arrested and risking jail for low life shit. After you stuck 1 on him for all you know he could of pulled out a gun or a nife or some shit, you should have sneeked up from behind him and restrained his arms and told the women to run for help. On the outher hand well done for trying to help her out most people like you say would have stud by and done nothing.
