Does anyone on this forum know why steroids are illegal in the US? I know for a fact that other countries encourage their athletes to use roids to get bigger and have an advantage. What is the "super good" reason that the US has made up to outlaw roids?

There is no good reason......Alcohol and Smoking kill Tons of people every damn day, and there is no evidence that steroids do anything but help people.

Politics & Money.....two words, one answer. It is as simple as that. Doesn't mean it is a good reason, it is just the reason. Every politician has an agenda and when that agenda can be lobbed into the media with scare tactics to sell magazines and boost ratings then it is like throwing gas on a fire and in the US it is just one of those things in the forefront of everyones minds right now. Sports is big money, which leads to big advertising, which leads to big media stories, which leads to "scary" drug stories that sell papers, magazines, and 60 Minute shows, which allows politicians to jump on the proverbial "band-wagon" and ride the wave into getting votes, which gets them elected, which gets them rich...so again..Two Words, One Answer. How can they be illegal. My Costco still carries them.

I pity the cancer/HIV patients without insurance. Kept my aunt alive, cured my Mom. They didn't have insurance but I have Costco. Does that make me an outlaw? If it does, come get me bitches.

Its amazing to me that we live in the most advanced country on the planet, yet the majority of the people in our country are idiots. The masses in this country are like sheep, being herded from one direction to another. People fall into the hype of the media and the government and dont bother to think for themselves. Thats why harmless drugs such as marijuana and steroids are illegal, thats also why we're involved in a pointless war half way across the world.

It's really a mistery to me. When congress held hearings on whether AS should be scheduled or not the FTC, FDA, DEA, Health and Human Services, all testified that it should not. But they did it anyway. I don't even know why they bothered with the hearing since they didn't listen to their own experts.

Not meant as the reason, but A LOT of US Citizens were pissed when golden boy Carl Lewis lost to Ben Johnson.......that didn't help the steroid cause.
