Why is white bread bad?

It has a high GI index and keeps insulin levels spiked for up to an hour after eating it.....When insulin levels are spiked you are prone to store bodyfat.....Well thats the reason I don't eat white bread anyways....

One measure of the GI index is comparing the blood glucose response of other carbohydrate foods to that of white bread in 50g of carbohydrate servings. One can conclude from that very fact that white bread indices a very drastic increase in blood glucose which along with that spike in blood glucose comes an accompanying spike in insulin to clear the glucose from the blood. Insuling is anti-lopolytic meaning in large spurts it will prevent the break down and use of triglycerides stored in adipose tissue and intra-muscular fat deposits. Large amounts of insulin are harmfull to arteries as well...hence the possible link to heart disease, neoropathy, and blindness. Consistant large releases of insulin also place a great deal of strain on the pnacreas. High insulin levels can lead to insulin insensitivity and thus even larger amounts of insulin a realeased upon a blood glucose increase further exacerbating the health risks and lipolytic antagonistic effects induced by insulin. White bread is also a highly processed food meaning it's not in the form it's intended to be in. The milling of it strips it of all it's valueble vitamins and minerals as well as raises its GI. It is essentially sugar. The highly processed flour was in high demand by the wealthy at the turn of the 20th century because it made "fluffy" bread and pasteries. Removing all the bran made the flour very fine, but also stripped it of it's nutrition. White bread is for the most part a nutritionally void food product. It causes a rapid increase in blood glucose which causes a rapid and dramatic increase in insulin. Insulin in this dose puts the breaks on fat loss and damages arteries. It also can lead to hypoglycemia by clearing all the glucose out of the blood too quickly. This will lead to a sensation of hunger and a craving for more carbohydrate. Likely that individual will them gorge themselves on more sugar loaded, nutritionally void food items...The typical American diet. This strains the pancreas and causes insulin resistance....Type 2 diabetes.

Now, carbohydrates are not bad nor is insulin. Insulin is the most anabolic hormone there is an carbs are neccessary for intense training and the addition of muscle mass. It's the type of carbs consumed and the amount of insulin released that causes the problems. Low GI foods "trickle" glucose into the blood for a sustained energy level. This requires very little insulin and thus the body functions normally. Lower GI foods also tend to be natural, unprocessed foods that are loaded with vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients.

White bread is the origin of food processing that has led to the poor nitritional habits and deteriorating health in this and many other coutries...More in the U.S. than any other, however. The obesity rate is 60% of the adult population in this country and diabetes is almost as common as the common cold these days. Eat real foods...Your body will show a difference for it.

Damn good info Beezers!!! I just figured it was someting as simple as too much carbs or some shit, not I know, Karma for you!!
