Never happened to me so I can`t really comment on how I would react, but if they work together everyday, maybe they`re really close friends/buddies. I could see that happening without any harm intended. I certainly see how it may not be the case here because every time he left for a minute, there would be guys all over her. But just calling someone "babe" is not THAT bad if they`re buddies IMO, ESPECIALLY if the woman does that too back to the guy (at work).

It`s often that work "buddies" are as close if not closer than couples sometimes. They seem to spend more time together and go through daily shit together... complaining about the boss, job, deadlines... they feel close.
