Why is everything illegal?

G, Weed, juice, . Im so tired of this government. Its those right wing conservative assholes . Just read that post on dee2 being raided and how metal gear did a year. NEXT THING YOU KNOW THEY WILL MAKE PUSSY ILLGEAL!

Just had to vent........

It's definitely not going in an 'ebb and flow' fashion...whereas some things are made illegal whilst others are found to be not worthy of the laws and legalized....Whilst I dont use anything but steroids I dont agree with prohibition myself...

Hrumph....

It's all about control. I can't speak for MJ, but for gear, it's all about making a nation of weak-minded and weak-bodied sheep.

Yeah it sucks, just imagine if juice was legal, prices would probbaly come down and there would be no fakes! I suppose the reason they give is the potential for abuse but hey that sounds like alcohol too.

Listen, the potential for abuse crap is just that... how many kids die a year from aspirin overdoses? 1,000? 3,000? Check out these figures on NSAIDS: (aspirin, acetaminophen etc...)

"According to Fries [1992], NSAIDs are thought to cause 76000 hospitalizations and 7600 deaths per year by causing gastrointestinal ulceration and bleeding. Fries JF. Assessing and understanding patient risk. Scand J Rheumatol 1992;Supp 92:21-24

More recently, Dr. Fries reportedly told LA Times Magazine that "The Food and Drug Administration believes anywhere from 10,000 to 20,000 deaths each year are the result of severe bleeding caused by NSAIDS. It's a big problem." Fries quoted in Marsa L. America's other drug problem. LA Times Magazine (Sep29)1996. Quoted from Dynamic Chiropractic [(Jan1)1997:23]

Also interesting are reports suggesting a link between use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and reactivation of tuberculosis. (See Tomasson et al. Tuberculosis and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Can Med Assoc J (Feb1)1984;130:275; and see Bennan M. Adverse effects of NSAIDs on renal function (case report). Can Med Assoc J (Nov1)1984;131:1012-3.)"

Do you guys see the *lawmaker's hippocracy here? Can you imagine if steroids caused even a 5th of these deaths? We'd be cruising at schedule I where there is no such thing as a seizure letter...

It genuinely has nothing to do with protecting us from ourselves. It's all about special interest and self interest bros... never about OUR interest as a populace... and we suffer for it on top of that...

* Remember we DO vote for these dipshit lawmakers...IMO if you want things NOT TO CHANGE, keep voting the big D or the big R... if you want to change things...throw your vote to an independent or even a libertarian. :)

good post frackal, the irony is just obvious. it just proves no one is actually thinking in washington. they just go with the flow. so we need to change the flow. vote libertarian

I wasnt defending the gov in any way shape or form, if you read my post again you will see that i likened alcohol to gear in its abuse potential and the gov dont ban that. At the end of the day its like everything else its down to dollars, alcohol is a very taxable commodity and i doubt gear is as much.

I think the argument WAS that AS are harmfull to your body and make you crazy when they were made illegal. Thomas Jefferson, one of the men that helped construct the constitution said "It is not the Goverments Job to protect you from yourself" Just a thought. A quote from Socrates "Just becuase it is illegal does not make it wrong"

Just come over here in Canada. AAS are legal for personal use and weed is about to be decriminalized.

BTW you guys need to explain soemthing to me. Why are pins/needles illegal in many States but not guns ?

Manny
Thats pretty much what its like here in the UK. If i cop found some AAS on you they wouldnt even bother to confiscate it. Weed as long as its for personal use has just recently been decriminalized.
