I don't get why I'm always getting sick. My diet is fine, I eat 6x or more a day with variety. I take multivitamins and extra vit c tabs throughout the day. I also get 7-8 hours of sleep a night. Now i'm sick...again...wtf is this about?

Everything is in check yet i feel i get sick more often than the average person

You smoke dope? I knew a friend who was a part-time dealer / heavy user and he was always sick!!! I mean constantly. He actually walked around with a box of tissues thanks to his continuous cold.

Do you dress warm enough for the winter?

Since Ive been taking Glutamine (atleast 5G a day) I have not gotten sick except for some mild Food poisoning, and hangovers occaisonally... pretty good to have no colds since 9 months of Glutamine Supplementation.

no i don't smoke. I guess i could dress a little warmer. I started taking glutamine like a week ago for its supposed immue boost.

Thoroughly Wash your hands after lifting.... there are tons of people holding those weights every day, sweating sneezing coughing.
Dont wipe your nose or eyes while lifting.

In theory u can do the opposite...coming in contact with germs may actually boost your immune system...

Say you lived in a perfect clean world and then touched one doorknob here...i bet you would be sick...but if you already touched 100...well u know the picture..

Are you taking tons of Vitamin C right now? As soon as I sneeze a time or two...I'm dropping a gram of Vitamin C.

The Carao seems to work WONDERS for sickness too...

i am taking lots of vit C now. And taking glutamine with every meal. Hopefully this goes away by sunday. It doesn't feel too bad actually.

Think i should lift today? I really can't afford to miss any training days. Maybe just something light?

Well then, by that logic you should be licking door handles and toilet seats and requesting people to cough and sneeze on you.

The reason it dosen't work that way is because there are hundreds of virii (is that the plural for virus?) and bacteria that all cause the same symptoms.
You may become immune to one (after suffering through the effects) but there will always be another one that will make you sick again.

Your immune system may not be weak.

You are probably exposed to hundreds of people each day. When this happens, you become susceptible towards getting sick.

This happened to me for a while.

Hang in there and keep your hands and face clean. . . at least 3 or 4 times per day. I know this sounds crazy, but take a cloth with you to open doors. It is amazing how many germs you can pick up from door handles.

dats true.... &dude-- do us all a favor & dont go to the gym when your sick!! gawd-- I hate watchin guys coughing & hacking away on the bench-- or turning green.... give it a day or two.

Thanks--

i lift at home in my garage. Is it a good idea to lift light? or not at all? I am really working hard to improve my strength and i don't want to miss a day. opinions?

If evrything is above the neck the old rule says lift, as long as you can stand it, but think about it, your body needs to recover from the cold, does it really help to have to make it recover from a workout too?

Maybe a cold just got by your system.

I use to ALWAYS get sick but i haven't been sick once in over 6 monthes now because i upped my multivitamins and vitamin c.

Gyms are where your most likely to catch something, I want to wear a resperator and some rubber gloves in that joint.
