Why email a mod if they never respond?

Everyone says dont discuss "sensitive material" in a post. Instead you're supposed to email a mod with your question or request. Ive emailed several mods with particular questions and the only one who has ever responded is El Cubano. Now I know they probably get a ton of e-mail, but isnt that part of being a mod. Arent you guys here to help us make the board run smoothly. I would think that should include answering your emails. Im not trying to Flame or bitch, but whats really going on. Im not the only one with this problem several other board memebers said the same to me through PM's. Do we need more Mods to pick up the slack. Are you guys overwhelmed with emails, pm's and other things. Just wondering

all depends on what you are asking? how your question is worded.......if its legit........with all the shit going on with that article in business week i would be careful on what i answered as a mod too.

The mods are not paid to do this. They are here because they have something to give. But I do a agree that we could probably replace some with new ones who are actually here once in a while. We actually have some who have not posted in over 9 months! (I won't mention any names)

Whether or not they get paid is irrelevant. Being a mod gives them alot of power over the board and access to things we dont have access to. If they are just in it for the perks and not to help then they should be replaced.

Thats rough. Elitefitness isnt the only board of this type, but I guess they neede somewhere to lay the blame.

I agree with the points raised in this thread. If a mod hasn't posted in 9 months, then why the hell are they still a mod?
I also requested a source check from two mods when I first started posting here, and neither one of them got back to me on it. I sent the same source check to a mod on another board, and he answered me back right away. At this point, I have a "stupid" question or need a source check, I ask somewhere else. I mostly use this board for technical information and it's wealth of knowledge, but the community (mods and vets) can be a tad chilly at times.
