i dunno, never happened to me. Does the same thing happen when you swallow a big load?

I get the hiccaps really really bad after I eat chilly.

Does this happen to anyone else here?

:whatever:

Smurfy how do you stay in such good shape? You are the High Glycemic Queen. You are always talking about Saltine crackers, baked potatos, cereal, and bread. (I'm assuming white bread)

I'm your age and If I ate that shit I would be fat. You should switch to yams, old fashioned oats, and wheat bread. This is a fitness site!!!!!!!!!

lol i am kinda fat.

That is sooo weird that you get the hik ups after you eat that stuff. I have never heard of that before. When I have a really good laugh I get the hick ups bad, and then it makes me laugh anymore... hhehehe

probably because the bolus of food (blob of chewed up food) going down your oesophagus is too gunky/rubbery/thick to be easily moved into your stomach, meaning that the muscles in your oesophagus have to contract more/harder to do the job, and it trips off a hiccup. hiccups themselves are just a spasm that causes your oesophagus to close up a bit and create low pressure in your gut, which some people believe is like a built in anti-choke measure - ie if food doesnt go down easily and is liable to get stuck, a hiccup may dislodge it and help it on its way down. i personally agree with that theory, but i could be wrong.

so yeah. smaller mouthfuls, more water, problem solved :)
