Why do you tan.....?

Those of you that do what is your reasoning?? Just curious.....

well several reasons. i hate being pasty white, and living in Norway usually has that effect on people. and i think one looks more healthy with a tan. from bodybuilding point of view, muscles definately get more defined, and easy to see when you have a darker skin colour.

Exactly. Paint it any way you'd like. Use any rationalization you want. It's vanity. Is that good or bad? Not for me to judge. But I call it what it is.

I'm just a little scared little boy to tan, so I use a self taner with bronze.........besides you can do some terrible damage to your skin out here in California.

I do it so I don't get sunburned when I go to the beach. Twice a week keeps a nice base. Some sunblock and I can chill and not get burned.

Ahhh ... I tan my body because it looks good and I enjoy looking good.....I also manicure my eyebrows becaus otherwise they just look plain retarded, though according to SOMEONE they look funny how I have 'em now too so what the fuck. I dont manicure my nails or toes though....I don't tan my face though, I use au courant bronze mousse for that....what is interesting is sometimes I will put it on after a shower and go to bed before it's dry which results in one side of the tan being rubbed off on the pillow, which can result in some embarassment but normally I can wash all of it off when that happens....babble babble

Actually I am Italian so a tan looks very natural on me and I take excellent care of my skin...it is very soft and not leathery looking at all.
