Why Do You Live Where You Live??

StickFigure

New member
What made you move to where you are? Work, college, a S/O??

Why have you never moved away from your birthplace?

Are you old enough to move away from home?(sublimeZM)

Do you even realize there are other places outside of Pleasantville??

I grew up in Minnesota. When I left college I moved back here. Lots of things happened that made me wind up staying. I'm close to my family. I don't have a lot of friends here.

I own a house. I have a decent job. I go to a great school. But I'm not at all opposed to moving. In fact I'd really like a redo of my whole life and I think it would be beneficial for me on many levels to leave here.

I'd kind of hope my little sister moved with me because we're so close but I've lived away from my family before and could easily do it again.

I grew up here, and really you can't beat L.A. and Southern California weather

<cue razorguns with derrogatory comments about L.A. and ugly people>

The first time I left home was for college. I left NYC at 22 to start a new life. I moved to Alexandria, VA because it reminded me of Queens, NY. Very diverse, great restaurants, great public transportation system, I can get a cab whenever I want, and its 20 minutes away from the city (Washington, D.C.). Its also a great place for single professionals.

I know there are places out there. I don't know where I'm going to be in the future so moving again is always an option. That said, I'm such a city girl that a city has to be nearby.

Born and raised in Central Florida.

For the first few years of my life, my mom and I lived with my grandparents in an affluent area called Windermere where the likes of Shaq, Tyra Banks, Arnold Palmer, etc live. After that, moved about 30 minutes north to a little town(well it was a little town) called Apopka where I grew up until I moved out. I then moved about 20 miles east to a town called sanford because my wife (then girlfriend) grew up here so we chose to live here since her and my work were here.

I would definitely like to move to somewhere out of Central Florida if only for a couple years just to experience something new. Not sure if it'll happen though

1. I was born and raised in SOCAL.

2. Can't afford it.

3. Yes(21) but I dont feel like paying 2K a month simply to survive if I had my own place, so I still live at home(alot of socal young people do).

4. NO. Cali has it going on, and I dont think anybody here gives a crap about what goes on outside of cali.

Military brought me to Alaska back in '90. Got out, got married, moved to Wa. State, back to Alaska to be closer to her family again, had 5 kids, got divorced after 12 years, can't see moving to another state right now and being that far away from my kids but feeling very restless and in need of moving since the divorce.

Nothing really. Might go hit up big bear later on. Also toying with the idea of a new 06 750(10K) or a used low mileage 954 for 6k.

you?

I live in Kingston because I go to school here. It's not a bad city for students because it's so university student oriented, but I don't think I'd ever have the urge to just move here permanently.

My hometown, where my family still lives, is 2.5 hours away from here, near Toronto. I love it...in high school I always thought it was small, but it's actually not that small... It's bigger than Kingston, lol. It's a nice town and I *love* the street I live on. It feels safe, there are places to go, and it's close enough to Toronto.

Ahh, their mom would throw a shit fit and I'd be in court till the cows came home.

Besides, I vowed I'd never live in SOCAL again.

I got mixed up in some real bad stuff when I was there, and it wouldn't surprise me if they were still after me.

Actually, I could probably get away with coming back, but with the kids in tow, it's a chance I'm not willing to take.

This is as good as I have capability for.

Hope you can see this HS. This bike is SICK!!

I've busted my butt and made a lot of sacrifices to live where I want to live. I'm almost there now. I only want to live by the ocean. I actually get anxious/depressed/bored if I'm landlocked for too long. I probably should have been born a dolphin..lol :dolphin:

University is the only reason I'd live in this area of Indiana. I'm used to living in much... higher class, richer suburban areas outside a major city. Lots of lower class areas around here. But I suppose you'll have that in such an industrial/cornfield area of the US. Could be worse... could be at Cornell, lol. Or Cambridge, lol.

I like the suburbs north of Milwaukee, WI and Chicago, IL. But once I'm out of school, I'll be going wherever the job is.

:cow:

Ozaukee county is highly prestigious, I would highly recommend living there if you like the midwest.

Otherwise, everyone knows prestigious people live out east.

That's a good fuckin question. I guess cause it's close to work, family, and friends. I'd really like to move far far away though.
