Why do you lift/train/bodybuild?

When you get a bit older you will realize that muscle wasting over the years will severly limit your mobility as you age ... strong muscles and bones will keep you active and mobile .. this is accomplished olny by resistance training and nothing else

All the other crap is just icing on the cake ... your body is your life !!! the longer you can keep your body mobile the better quality of life you will enjoy .. Muscle plays the biggest role

When I was in elementary school I watched rockey 3 (or was it 4), where he was fighting the russian and went to moscow and trained in the barn doing 1783091802 sit ups, running with a log in the snow etc. That movie can motivate anyone, lol.

I started doing push ups etc. nothing serious. then in highschool I started to train to help out with sports like rugby, wrestling and soccer. I was really ripped and the chicks loved it.

I took like 8 years off and did nothing but gain weight, mostly fat. Now I'm back to the gym, initially it was simply to get in shape for soccer, but one I started lifting all those old feelings of how good it is to be lifting actual weight came back.

Now my reasons are as follows.

1. I am competitive, and what better opponent then myself. I lift to make those personal gains that feel oh so good.

2a. Sports, though I'm only playing soccer right now but contrary to what most people think it is a pretty physical sport. The weight training has helped my game.

2b Motorcycle racing. Believe it or not running a full race is very exhausting and strenuous on the muscles. By the end of a race my forearms are so drained it's a chore just to pull te brake leaver and twist the throttle. Not to mention move my body from side to side through the turns. I hope my time in the gym will give me that extra edge come race season.

3. Health, All this lifting and aerobic activity has to be good for you... right?

4. Of course aesthetics, who doesn’t want to look good?

Why do i lift/train ?
Because im a mean ass cyborg muva f**ker sent back in time to destroy anyone that gets in my way.

I started lifting cus I wanted to get into better shape. I continued lifting because I liked the changes I saw in my body, my personality, and the new way I was being treated by others. I still continue to lift because it has become a part of who I am - I will never stop, never complain, and never settle for light weight.

First to get the fat off. Then to get in shape. Now for strength/size. As a result, better shape, more confidence, some women like that. Oh, and I wish I was big enough to be called gross.
