Plus I think this is one if not the best bodybuilding forum I have found out there. Next student loan I take out may have to have an extra 300$ on it..lol
Websites aren't free, at least ones that use this much bandwidth and have this much info aren't. Nothing wrong with helping support the site if its in the numbers. I was plat once, the extra features were nice. Not saying you can't get the info free somewhere else, but somewhere down the line someone is paying for it.

the benefit i always put it down to is that a site that makes you pay is more likely to tell the FBI to fuck off when they ask for user IPs to bust roiders.

we work out. There's lots of info on this site that you can't find unless you use your Platinum Powers. I know this, because I tried unsuccessfully as a nonplat before I finally caved. 2 years ago.

When you pay for a site like this this owners of the site have more power to do things to help its members...
For example, say the d*a wanted to get access to all the info George had on all of EF's members.... Well, since he is a rich mother fu**er he can afford to hire the best lawyers and what not that would be required to fight something like that in court
Plus, when you pay, other people like me will respect you more because we feel you are doing your part to help the cause.... Also, i am almost certain Mr. Spellwin would appreciate it too LOL!

Honestly I dont think he is attempting to be a prick here, even though I could see how his posts might come off that way.

Im storngly considering signing up for platinum. My only fear is that I have a propensity to be banned from forums. I dont mean to get banned, mods are just tough soemtimes. The mods here are great, and have been lenient so far, but digger threatened to ban me. I wouldnt want to pay and get banned.

When GS built this board, I'm sure he never expected the site to be such a hit. To come from a little BBS to a full fledge supersite where pretty much anything can be talked about is quite an achievement. Sure some can say that the AS forum should be the only one but that's not what George envisioned. His achievements in not only building one of the most popular fitness sites but also protecting each of his members is something not many can brag about. To have the leading steroid lawyer at your side whenever the need arrises, has to costs a pretty penny.
To come up with that kind of money, I highly doubt any investors would wanna attach their name to a website that openly endorses steroid use. Sure we don't see the harm in it but to the normal plebe, it's a very awkward predicament.
So I consider the ultimate gesture of respect that I continue to support the site by being plat. Hell I think I was in the first batch of platinum members if I remember correctly. Back when I was actively using AAS, the info, comradery, and sense of assurance that I was using them in the most safe and consistent manner only reinforced the fact that I felt the need to give back.
Sure this may sound like an asskissing or open pimp of plat but I've never really tried to pimp anything from this sight. If people wanna give back to EF, they can. If they don't want to, they don't. If george was really greedy, he would charge everyone but since he values the non-plat members just as much, I highly doubt there will ever come a day when he makes EF a pay only site.

EF is HUGE. If you were to run this site and have no one pay, it wouldn't be around anymore unless you wanted to fork out tons of money to keep it running.
That is all I really want/need it for, but there are other forums that can help you in day to day life. Like C7C, I get a lot of worldly news from it. The diet forums I like to read now and then, the same with the powerlifting forums.
Sometime go into each and every forum and see how big this place really is, then you might understand why it needs out support.
