KAYNE said:ITS NOT THAT THEY EXPECT YOU TO BUY THEM FLOWERS, ITS THAT THEY JUST LIKE FOR YOU TO DO LITTLE THINGS TO SHOW YOU CARE. BELIEVE IT OR NOT, THOSE ARE THE THINGS THAT MAKE'M FEEL SPECIAL.

Who are you kidding? That's like the time Homer bought Marge a bowling ball that said "Homer" on it.

notoriousQQ said:You don't buy flowers for a women because she expects it. Kayne is right, if you are with someone you care about, doing and sharing in the little things is absolutely what makes a relationship beautiful.
KAYNE said:IT DOESNT HAVE TO BE FLOWERS. IT CAN BE A 2$ CARD OR SOMETHING. MY EX USED TO MAKE LITTLE THINGS AND GIVE THEM TO ME ALL THE TIME. SHE BOUGHT CARDS AND OTHER LITTLE THINGS.
YOU CAN SAY YOU CARE ALL YOU WANT. BUT IF YOU DONT SHOW IT, IT REALLY DOESNT MATTER HOW MUCH YOU SAY YOU CARE. DOES IT!!!

And what makes you go in to debt and then wonder how you got there.

How much do you spend on going out and drinking? Or, on going to the movies, or gas in your car, new clothes, eating out? It's ridiculous to say that buying a $2 card and writing a sweet note in it and slipping it underneath your girls pillow for her to find or spending $10-15 on a semi-regular basis for roses is going to break you.
Get real cheap ass. I just bought two dozen candy cane roses for $14.99 per doz. a card for $2 and a balloon that said "thinking about you" for $3 and left it sitting on my girls front porch in a large gift bag that cost $4. The satisfaction I recieved from hearing her voice on the phone telling me she had a long day but the flowers made everything better and her feel like she wanted to melt inside was absolutely priceless. The fact that it cost me $40 is absolutely beside the point.
Maybe your thought process should be less focused on why women expect you to do things and more on trying to find someone that naturally brings that out in you? Because whenever you do find someone you care about, thoughts and expressions of caring and love will feel much more natural and easier to show.

So, you have to buy somebody something to show you care. I see they've done a good job of brainwashing us in this consumer society.
Kali said:Personally, I would rather have someone pick me flowers than buy me flowers. It is the thought, not the money that counts. Kayne is right, the poem and the little flower would make me melt in a second. That would mean more to me than 5 dozen long stem roses any day. Anyone can swipe a credit card, it takes effort and thought to do something like that.
Kali said:About the whole card thing that was mentioned earlier... It was just my best friends birthday and instead of buying her a card, I made her one on my computer that consisted of pictures of us together and a little saying. It was very obvious it was home made. At the end of the night, all the other cards got trashed along with the wrapping paper, my card is sitting up in her room and made her cry when she got it. I seriously spent 2 cents and 10 min. on something that made her so happy she cried. That kind of stuff means more to women than you could ever imagine.
Kali said:Not all women are like that... and as I recall you are in charge of your own life, so women really don't do anything to you or treat you any way that you don't let them. Face it, if you didn't like it, you wouldn't let it happen.

biteme said:O.k. Thanks everyone, and it must be true what they say about me, I'm a cheap bastard. But I don't mind picking flowers and writing poems and drawing(although I can barely draw a stickman).![]()

This is why equal rights is a failure and partially why I am going to leave this country. Women are having their cakes, they are eating it too....and they get 1/2 your worth if they say they are unhappy.
Excuse me but getting raped is partially due to bad judgement by the victims. I pride myself on decent judgement.

We are programmed to pass on our genes. I'm still interested in that perhaps but no way and no how to this particular culture we got right here. If I wanted to get fucked in the ass, I'd be gay broly.

Get a nice proper hispanic or italian girl, they know how to treat their men right and they know how to act like a real woman, not any of this I-am-woman-hear-me-roar crap you see now. You take care of them, they take care of you bro.
Wherever did you get the idea that women expect men to buy them flowers? I know you couldn't have gotten that idea from too many women because most of us do not 'expect' it. I know I don't. But like most everyone else said, it's the little unexpected gifts that mean the most. I would take a cute little card over a bouquet of long-stemmed roses any day of the year. By the way, it also makes me really happy to be the one giving little gifts to someone I care about too.biteme said:To me this just shows the selfish nature of these women. What a waste of money. Why? Because of guys like me who love to give flowers and watch them gush over them and melt into me. But, hey, if you don't want her to feel...that's the key word with women my friend...like she's something special, something incredible to you, then you can just keep striking out. Flowers, by the way, are just ONE small but effective way you can do that. Know how to make each one feel....

I have scored many times with the flower trick. It's a lot cheaper than paying a whore, sometimes not a lot different though.

It's not the flowers in themselves it's the thought that matters
If you buy flowers you "feed" the florist and you have a happy wife/GFbiteme said:I beg to differ sir. It's the cash that matters. With most americans in debt, Flowers are a bad investment. I'd rather someone give the money to the poor.
anthrax said:If you buy flowers you "feed" the florist and you have a happy wife/GF
If you don't buy her flowers she'll get you to the court and it'll cost you much much more
So, you see, that's not a bad investment

it's the little cloud of pleasantness we use to disguise the true nature of man which does not include sending flowers and writing love poems to his spouse so in fact us guys only have ourselves to blame for setting the president

hanselthecaretaker said:The poor are poor for a reason. Give them money and they'll find a way to misuse it to ensure their status. Granted I think everyone deserves a chance, but I think the rich should be further rewarded because 99.999% of them worked hard to get there.
