Why do some of you people believe in God??

My family is not real religious but religious enough for them to get pissed if I say this whole God and religion thing is bullshit. I think churches and what not were made back in the day to keep the peace and have people fear something. Now that people live so much longer they are to give stupid people hope and what not. Imagine that your son got in a serious car accident, most people would ask god to help them because without god they feel helpless. They can't help their son, only this so called "god" will help them. And if he dies it was their sons time, or god works in mysterious ways, or you can't understand how god thinks. Well this religion shit is garbage if you ask me. I went to a catholic school for 10 years, used to pray every night and just gave up on it. God hasn't helped me one bit. I believe more in UFOs then all this religion bullshit. Maybe someone can change my mind. Flame away

Only thing I can add here sir is this. YOU have to find God YOUR way, Your way is the right way, alot and most people who have some sort of religion or set of tenets they follow have been shown that particular way or path with the do's and don'ts attached. I don't believe anyone or a group can show YOU the true meaning of God, they can point you in a direction but YOU have to find HIM your way brother. Create your own beliefs with logic and common sense. peace

I'm not sure if I agree with that, but maybe there has been a study..I just dont agree that humans have a biological "need"..Your saying biological need for God like humans becoming hungry for food, or thirsty for water. I seriously doubt that if thats the argument you're making.

Now here I agree with you. Without some sort of religion or belief or idea system in this world, it would be chaotic--no doubt. I'm very spiritual and religious. My mom is an ordained Methodist minister so I've been around it my whole life. I have my worldly desires, but I also have my spiritual desires. ANd the biggest conflict is when I choose my worldly ones over my spiritual ones. Thats when my guilt settles in--however I pray to a spiritual being I call God for my loved ones and for this world.

I know it dont seem like Im like dat kinda deep brotha, but for real I am.
