why did YOU start working out?

Well i started lifting for football and didn't like it because i brought my ego in the gym and thought i was weak. I started going in college after a neighbor sold me some cheap whey protein. Read The ANimal pak journey and decided its time to stop being a skinny stick and get big.

I started working out with diet/supplements Dec 28th @ 6'1 155 and Currently @
6'1 195 with abs.

My body was just so shocked to swithc to 6 meals a day along with creatine and protein.

Its hard to make noticeable gains now but im keeping at it

I had always been tall and skinny with 'bird legs'. Wanted to just put on some size. That, and I wanted to quit smoking. I ended up quitting smoking about 6 months after I started working out. That was 14 years ago. I am 6' 5'', 300lbs at about 20%bf. No more bird legs.

I was diagnosed with Severe Depression, probably abusing ecstacy for too long. On top of that I had self esteem issues. I was prescribed Zoloft and was a walking zombie. I didn't want to take any more mind altering drugs. I felt I was masking one problem with another problem by taking Zoloft.

Shortly after I tapered the Zoloft use, I purchased a gym membership. I found that working out gave me an all around sense of self worth and actually made me feel better. It seemed as though the depression went away just from getting regular exercise every day. After a two months I was hooked on going to the gym, it was an absolute necessity. On top of that I started seeing results. I was getting more attention and positive reinforcement from people commenting how good I look. That really helped with my self esteeem issues I have. After 3 years of really intense training I feel like a new person. It really has changed my life for the better.

I was eating crap, having crap sleep, taking drugs, and basically doing anything that made me unhealthy and weak. I got bored of being unhealthy and weak, so i decided to start working out because i wanted to be fit healthy and strong. Wich i am, and also drug free :) all thanks to some family members and of course elite fitness ;)
