Why Can't We Leave the Time Daylight saving all year long?

WODIN said:

There was a campaign a few years ago called "Don't touch the Clocks" to do just this. No one really cared enough to get it rolling.

Dang I didn't hear that. I would have helped in the campaign.

When I was in grade school they tried a whole year of daylight savings time at least where I live. It was bad enough going to school when it was 20 Below without the windchill and butt deep in snow but when it was dark as well it was a mess. I could see if you lived someplace warm but from the center of the country North it just won't work.

The winter months are "normal" or standard time in alignment with Greenwich Mean time. The Day Light Savings time of moving an hour forward in the summer is to save energy.

Your question shouldn't be should we set the clocks back but should we set them forward and just stay there.

That is what I was going to say ;)

i cant fucking stand daylight savings time, its stupid. it should be on a national referendum come election year.

You mean you don't like it moving around or it means you like it dark at 6pm?

When they move the clocks at a specific time of year it takes a while for the "light" to "catch up" so to speak.

If they did it gradually over a period of months, It would not be felt so much.

For example in September you can move the clocks back 30 seconds, Then 30 seconds the next day and so on...

If you did this every day for 6 months, We would be very happy. The world would be perfect.

I think I`m going to campaign for this.

But why not make it daylight savings time all the time.

Thank YOU curling for actually bringing up the topic.
