I'm watching COPS here while eating ice cream (what every1 should be doing each night).
And watching this dangerous high speed car chase. To end it, they used spike strips on the road.
Fair enough. But WHY doesn't someone just invent some crossbow-looking automatic spike strip launcher on the front of a cop car. The cop comes up behind it, press a button, it launches a long pole forward, and then the "arms" of the spike strip pop out on each side, and the cop then presses on his brake -- making the suspect proceed right over the spikes. Then he presses a button and the spike strip curls up and goes retreats back.
Sounds pretty freakin' similar. Something out of a Hollywood movie. Am i missing something????
