Why can't people accept personal responsibility?

I'm sick and tired of people thinking that because I'm a trainer I have to hold their hands 24/7. I got an email last night from a woman. She had four sessions bought for her as a gift (from her boss of all people) back in December and did not come in to do one until mid January citing she was too busy over the holidays. After that session it took her two weeks to prompt to book again, and when I suggested a time I didn't get a response.

Now, SEVEN weeks later she sends my manager an email complaining that I am never available to see her and she wants her money back. I checked the logs and she has been in the club ONCE since that one session in January. She also said that she wants credit for the sessions because she doesn't want to train with anyone else because they won't be available either. At this point she sounds like a wingnut to me and I'm pissed off.

Just to put down what I would love to say to her face but can't: If you think for one second that my job involves being your baby sitter then you're sorely mistaken. If you don't have enough motivation to exercise more than once every two months I'm not dealing with you because you're obviously not ready for anything close to what you need. When you are sitting on your ass complaining about how you can't lose weight remember the two months you wasted being a bitch instead of taking some personal responsibility and getting your ass off the couch and into the gym. And with your attitude I'm not surprised you're divorced.

Why can't people look at themselves and realize that the situation they got themselves in is their own fault instead of being idiots and blaming other people?

wants her money back for a gift someone got her?

screw that....she justs wants the cash. under no circumstances would I offer her a refund.

exactly. Why put forth physical effort when she can have money instead?
This is her way of doing that.

b/c mommie and/or daddy either lead by example or didn't teach them well enough to do so

This my friend is one of the biggest problems in the great old United States. It so easy to blame someone else for their insecurities, faults, or wrong doings instead of accepting responsiblity or accountability for their own worthless actions. This is called the backdoor method. These people are weak, feeble pieces of shit, who deserve to be run over my a semi. They much rather point the finger and run out the back door instead being a stand up person and walking through the front door and doing the right thing. This is society people! Deal it or deal with it!

It's not just US problem.

I'm the only "US born" one in my family and other than my father there's not a single one that can take resposibility for their actions.

That said, it could be a cultural one, if one were to make a blanket statement.

Since I have not visited any other countries, not do I live in another country, I will just use the United States as my example. BTW, love the avatar!

When I worked for Work Out World (a chain of gyms) there was NO WAY that the gym would EVER refund any monies for personal training sessions regardless of the circumstances. Sadly, the trainers never saw their teeny percentage of that money either as they would only be paid when the session was used but Work Out World got ALL of their money upfront.

Work Out World is notoriously well known in the fitness industry for aptly screwing not only their members, but their employees as well.

I had a tenant say I told them a lease was signed so they signes another lease and were moving out. They told the owner they were not going to pay.
I never said such a thing. Taking that bitch to court.

She just wants the cash because she realized she would never use the gift. She had to try to place the blame on you to try to achieve her goal of getting her money. Don't let it make you sweat. People are just jerks sometimes.

There is a reason she is in her current condition. No point in hiring a trainer unless you are committed to doing what it takes. I bet she gives up on everything remotely difficult in life, personality trait. That's not something someone else can change.

I know more fat people than skinny people.

Sorry, a little off topic.
