There are a couple bands with black musicians - saw a metal band with a badass black drummer. I think there's more in the punk scene though.

Quite a few black folks I know listen to some rock like Creed, Defones, and stuff like that while still listen to plenty of hip hop and RnB. I think really hard metal is something that appeals to very very few black people. Hell most white people I know at least don't even listen to that stuff.
