Why Can't A White Man Walk in Harlem without Getting Beat Up or Killed?

MR.? said:
Very funny post.

I've been into the heart of Harlem many times and parts of the south Bronx without a problem. From my experience, the people in Harlem have always been respectful and helpful.

If memory serves me correctly you were black correct?? Heh respectful and helpful you must be in harlem, tenessee or something because you can't be talking about the one we are. Peace.

Drizzit,

I am bi-racial, but i have blue eyes, brown straight hair and light skin.

And yes I am talking about the same Harlem.

Ok you come up here to michigan and I am gonna take you down to detroit to a place called Grand river Ave I will drop you off at one end and you walk to the other end if you get out alive without gettin mugged, killed, raped, whatever I will eat my words until then I stick by my guns.

Most white people can walk through Harlem just fine. The reason that inner city areas tend to be more dangerous is because they tend to be poorer, have more drug addicts, and be less well patrolled by the police. Rodeo drive is one of the richest areas in the world, and has none of these problems. It's not a question of race in this comparison, obviously.

There are plenty of very white areas that are as dangerous as Harlem, especially for nonwhites. Hell, Southie in Boston can be every bit as dangerous; imagine a black man walking through the wrong parts of that at night? There are racists of every color.

angry drunk irish!! Scary!!

There's also poor parts of london that are the same way.

Also I'm sure there are some latino neighborhoods any normal person wouldn't want to get lost in.

wHA?

Where did you get your information?

I'm white - never had a problem in Harlem - well, anywhere to be honest. I have had a blown out tire in HARLEM and had people HELP me change my tire on the off ramp of a bridge. How many people can you say will pull over on the LIE (Long Island) to help you out?

My father's white (well sorta) - worked in Harlem Hosiptal for several years never had a problem.

I think perhaps your facts need an adjustment.
