Holy shit, what happened to you?
I've known a lot of couples in my years, & I can only think of 1 where the wife was like that. Most of the couples I know, in all honesty, the women put more into the relatinship than the men. The women work a 40 hr week & then do most, if not all, of the house work.
I calls em like I sees em.
In my opinion a marriage is like a team. It's like me & her against the world. She is the ONE person I can count on. And I am the only person she can count on. I honestly think that a lot of people get divorced today, because they are too friggin selfish. Ruling out Alcoholics, druggies, & abusers, people are too quick to say "You got more than me!"
They fight about who had to do the dishes, who had to feed the dog, who had to drive the kids somewhere.
The marriage ceremony is a celebration. It's saying to all your friends & relatives, "Hey! I found the One!" It's stating to all the assembled that YOU are willing to do whatever it takes to make this team work. & really, if you love her, is it so much to ask, that you admit that love in front of hundreds. Or are you hedging your bets. "I love her, (but I'm waiting for someone better)."
I got married at 20. Not one of my friends from that era even knows where I am. I can't wait 'til my kid leaves, because then we can be alone together again.
