Who's watching the debates tonight?

I think they're nearly worthless, other than formal PR stunts to see who has better composure in a very controlled situation.

But I'll probably watch a few minutes.

I'd watch some of it but I'm at work :(

And I have to deal with the highway being closed because of the debate :( :(

In my view Romney cannot debate, he keeps talking to Obama (Who is ignoring him) instead of the Country.

Romney will not win the election by getting Obama to vote for him.

I think by him occasionally talking to Obama instead of the camera makes him appear cooperative? Obama refusing to look at him makes him look like an asshole. He won't even look at him. Lol. What a dick. Even if I didn't want to look at him, I'd have to give him a pity glance to ease my own discomfort. Lol.

Because he is. He made a smartass comment earlier about how he had five seconds before he was interrupted...then blabbed b.s. for five more minutes...

Arrogant fuck.

Yep.
To add to cindy's fantastic observation, Romney looks like he has balls, and Obama can't look the man in the eye and well, doesn't have any...

But what about those snide little comments he makes under his vague statements?

Romney kept making statements about reforms and plans but without giving any specifics, he was vague as fuck and completely out of touch.

poor old Jim Lehrer is no match for attemting to stop obama from finishing his reply in full.lol

Romney could use a few more debate lessons but did way better than expected but still thought he looked too fugging fidgety an d uncomfortable on stage.

Seriously - Oboma struggled bad. Not a good show. There are several buzz lines you heard from Romney you will hear over and over. Oboma was not on his game.

Bread and Circuses. Enjoy the show people...after all, we're the ones' calling the shots.

listening to these guys talk gives me the willies anymore. It's like how did these people come to have this power? How did we end up in this world where clowns get to run the show? With the exception of Ron Paul every man in my lifetime that has either been president or run for president was/is a contemptible fool who's purpose for seeking power was self glorification in the end.

How? That's easy to answer...We turn off our "critical thinking", we turn on our TVs...and we do the bidding of our media/corporate/govt masters while we feed our faces w/ Monsanto GMO foods and revel in the latest contestants on American Idol.

Heaven forbid should we scrutinize our officials and go to thomas.gov or opensecrets.org for voting records, yes?

I don't blame DC...I don't blame Wall st...I blame "us". Ron Paul has/had the answers...we chose to ignore the message and do what we're told by the media.

Was watching the recap and even the democrats on the panel were sayin Romney took this one and that Obama was taken back.
Isn't the next one on foreign policy, Barry's strong area...

Don't you include me in that 'us' reference. I understand you mean we as a nation, but I refuse to take the blame for the incompetence of men I didn't vote for. Not that I think McCain would have faired much better, you don't inherit a pile of shit and turn it to gold overnight. But there are those of us still meeting in private offices across the country and bringing our message forth to local and state officials. We are fighting the fight, even if we know we are probably already knocked out.

I won't sit idle and watch conglomerate news outlets carry out the will of their own corrupt agendas. Fuck fox, fuck cnn, fuck msnbc, fuck them all.

I don't care if America is too lazy or uneducated to think for themselves, I am going to swim upstream.

It dawned on us, but it's been let go too far to save I think. Ron Paul was maybe one of our last chances to correct it, but media prevailed.

It's odd that before all this coverage and technology, we weren't doing too shabby, but now that everyone has an education available at the click of a mouse, noone wants it anymore. 'Jersey Shore is on, so fuck learning anything useful'...

no we been doin shabby for a long time homie, way longer than this country's even been around. Basically the shit just migrates from one empire to the next. The foundation for the next empire on the Asian continent is being primed. So basically when everything's been sucked dry here it'll head over there, that's how this shit works. It's going to be "exactly" like those cities that lost their sports teams "literally" overnight.....we're gonna wake up one day and our currency is going to be worth less than the peso. As soon as they see fit they're gonna pull the 1's and 0's, that cyberspace monetary mechanism which is the only thing giving our currency backing, and they're gonna shift it to asia.

Oh don't get me wrong, I agree, that's why I said it's been let go too far too long to save. I do think, however, that the dumbing down of our more recent generations through the mainstream media has sped up the process at an incredible rate. Just barely over 20 years ago Americans were led by one of the best presidents to ever hold office, and in the blink of an eye we're in the shitter looking at a complete collapse.

So back on the debate. Was a pretty unanimous decision Romney won big. BHO was unprepared and was in need of a teleprompter. I did not think it was that bad but when James Carvel said it was bad and then the CNN poll came out 67% to 25% I was a bit shocked.

So does this make a difference? Did the race just get tight enough or does this stupid electoral college already have it mapped out?

I don't think it changed much. Barry will still win and we're still fucked, and your vote still doesn't count..

You got that right. I am in Texas and 50% of the Republicans could not show up and Romney will still take the electoral. However, you people living in Florida (Annie), Carolinas (Nef) and Ohio (most of everyone else), your vote will be huge.

Yep, I'm a Texan as well, so I'm not going to waste my time. My vote would be a drop of water in the ocean...

Agreed on the mentioned states, especially Florida. Shitloads of power with that many electoral votes up in the air. Romney needs Ohio bad too..

I agree I loved listening to Ron Paul, that guy would have brought REAL motherfucking change

That sums it up very nicely.

Some people like the Jews, and some do not. But no thoughtful man can deny the fact that they are, beyond any question, the most formidable and the most remarkable race which has appeared in the world.

- Winston Churchill - Prime Minister of Great Britain

Plus a few dozen more here.

not as long as we can still go to war over it (and win) the way we did in Iraq.

no money no war esse. Our vaunted war machine can be deconstructed overnight if the currency were to implode. All those soldiers across the globe will be on military transports back home overnight

overnight?

well, the last time someone started trying to get away from the dollar as the global reserve currency, we went to war in Iraq and stopped that shit.

Unless you're going to try to tell me it was about something else? lolol

To bad he didn't fix anything just fuck it up more

Lol @ any president being able to "fix" America in four short years. The US is a lost cause. Lets focus on exploiting it's remaining assets and then selling it off in small chunks.

Lately, I am starting to blame the others.

I understand why there is an allure not to blame them. It's choice. Each person has the ability to make their own choice.

However, I'm starting to think that they don't because of the priorities. For example, getting away from Monsanto is not as easy as deciding to get away from it. The amount of research that I've had to do to understand how pervasive that company can reach is astounding. It's almost another full time job. For myself, I've stopped at identifying a few brands that aren't tainted rather then focus on the ones that are. That said, it's possible that those brands will be bought up in time by them and my research would have to start again.

If I earned less or had more kids, then I wouldn't be able to do this because I value my kid's education more (I think that public schools are crap so I spend time with them and go through additional educational materials -- finances, government, etc). However, I often ask myself should I really have to choose between my kid's education vs my GMO fetish?
