I am kind of pumped about seeing this new Munich movie speilburg put out. I think it is about Israels reaction to the towlheads kidnapping their athletes during the olympics.. I think they(the Jews special forces) track down and kill all those arab towel suckers and execute them like the dogs they are. That is what I like about that country they don't mess around they know how to handle terrorist you exterminate them like bugs.

Anyway it got me think we have bad ass special forces and so do the Jews and Britain has some good ones too. Whose are the best?

and you call yourself a true christian? True christians dont have that hatred in all your posts

I've worked closely with many other nations SF units and as expected most are very good soldiers. The US military will always be the best due to the funding imo. I have worked with some Czech Republic guys and they were very impressive. I think a lot of this has to do with what the nations priorities are, different nations are better at different things.

As far as the movie goes I think you might be suprised at the way it is filmed. From what I've seen it apears to lean a bit towards how the unit got a bit out of control in attempting to bring down the hijackers. I plan to watch it today and will kick my opinions after seeing it.

LOL. you got me. Like I said I have no problem with people believing other things even though I feel pity for them but I don't terrorism. I think it is cowardly and pussified. If they don't have the money to fight full on war they could still pick military targets instead of civilians. Killing innocent civilians is just a total pussy person.

the saddest thing about the terrorists is that they beleive that they are gonna go to heaven and that Alah is gonna have a lot of virgins for them, cause they were martyrs. The Koran doesnt accept suicide either, except if you died for the cause of God, which they think they did.

But, nonethless, I hate them too.

No matter what, US military ALWAYS has THE coolest equipment. You get enough technology behind you, you're a god.

I know they just brainwash the crap out of these kids. I guess i pity them too because if they didn't grow up in that eviroment and have what we have they would know that their govt and leaders our full of bs and using them like pawns to do their dirty work while they live lavish lifestyles.

I can somehow understand them a little bit. I think that nobody is telling them who to hate, its just that they are growing up in that kind of enviroment and soaking that shit up. Its almost the same on the Balkans - nobody told us to hate albanians, it just happens with albanians AND with us to hate each other just growing up in that enviroment. The only difference is that nobody is blowing themselfes up to kill other people

navy seals and army rangers are some bad ass mother fuckers. i think you have to be a little mental to make it to be one of those.

The Mossad in a cakewalk

Than why do they have such a problem controling their own country if everything is a cakewalk for them? How much international work do they do? How varied are their missions? How limited are their capabilities? What are their mission success rates? What other nations focus their training based on their operation strategies?

German Infrared Night-Vision Devices mounted on Panthers
j0b42t.jpg

j0b4a0.jpg

n mid 1943, first tests with infrared night-vision (Nacht Jager) devices and telescopic rangefinders mounted on Panther started. Two different arrangements / solutions were created and used on Panther tanks.

Solution A - Sperber (Sparrow Hawk) was made up of one 30cm infrared searchlight (with range of 600m) and image converter operated by the commander - FG 1250. From late 1944 to March of 1945, some Panzerkampfwagen V Panther Ausf G (and other variants) mounted with FG 1250, were succesfully tested. From March to April of 1945, approximately 50 Panthers Ausf G (and other variants) mounted with FG 1250, saw combat service on the Eastern Front and Western Front. Panthers with IR operated with SdKfz.251/20 Uhu (Owl) half-track with 60cm infra-red searchlight and Sd.Kfz.251/21 Falke (Falcon). This solution could be easily mounted on any type of armored fighting vehicle.

Various units received IR Panthers including 116th Panzer Division (3rd company of 24th Panzer Regiment, Western Front, Summer of 1944), Sixth SS Panzer Army (Hungary, early 1945), Panzer Division Muncheberg and Clausewitz. One combat report is by a veteran of 1st SS Panzer Regiment of 1st SS Panzer Division "LSSAH", who states that few Panthers equipped with infrared night-vision devices possibly from 116th Panzer Division were used in 1944/45 during the Ardennes Offensive. In April of 1945, Panthers equipped with IR equipment (solution B) joined Panzer Division Clausewitz and in mid April near Uelzen destroyed entire platoon of British Comet cruiser tanks. Also on April 21st of 1945, same Panthers overran an American anti-tank position on the Weser-Elbe Canal.

Sturmgewehr 44

This revolutionary weapon was finally introduced into service in February 1943, following extensive trials. Initially designated MP43 it was later renamed Sturmgewehr 44. The weapon was a gas-operated, automatic weapon that could be fired both in single-shot and full automatic mode. The weapon weighed 9.5lb, fired a 7.92mm round and was fed by a removable 30 round magazine. It could be fitted with a bayonet, the Schiessbecher rifle grenade device or the ZF 4 scope. The Sturmgewehr 44 could also be fitted with ZF 1229 Vampir, an infrared night sighting device or the Krummerlauf, a bent barrel with a periscope-sighting device for shooting around corners.

Articles by former recruiting officer of the Legion (chief ajudant Charles Stoeng)

Once you come to Aubagne, the first test is of course the medical test,(if you are going to live among us we must be sure that you are in the medical condition needed to live in community). The doctor who sees you will decide if you are ok or not. Be fit, clean and without problems!! No eyes problems, no heart problems, no knee problems. No fucking problems at all. After all, it is the doctor who will decide, so dont complicate the work for him. If he is in a bad mood he might send you home because he doesen't like your face. And he has the right to do what ever he likes. He is the doctor and nobody argues with him,(this is not democratic at all!! it is the legion). We got plenty of candidates, so be fit and without problems. You must convince the doctor that you are in fighting condition and we do not have to spend thousands of dollars to fix you before starting you. If you have an medical problem, you are wasting everybody's time, yours and ours. Stay home.

Considering that you have passed the medical test, next stop is the running test. The final GO from the doctor might take up to one week (blood tests and x-rays must come back from the hospital before the final decision is made) meanwhile you will do different un-interesting/boring tasks inside the camp. No sports, because we have no medical clearance, so if you have a heart attack and die we are in deep shit. Finally one morning it will be the running test. This is the standard cooper test, you will run around an 400m track for twelve minutes. The score will be between 0 and 20 points which is the maximum possible score reached after 3200m. Once again do not create any fucking problems. Be ready, and do your best. No shoe problems, no leg problems,no cold or any fancy diseases early in the morning. These points ARE obtainable, so you want to make sure you can do this with no problem as it is an easy way to get 20 points. (prepare yourself for this before joining).

If you pass the cooper test the next stop will be the IQ test. (I almost forgot, the running test! If you are doing it with 20 russian ex officers and they all do 3600m. You with your 3200m and 20 points wont get very far, and you will be going home before the end of the day) So as you can see there is an certain luck needed to pass. Therfore it is very important to choose the right moment to join. Personnally I suggest to join in december (few candidates, so little competition).

The IQ test. Do not worry. I know plenty of idiots who have passed. It starts off easy and gets worse and worse until it gets impossible. Do not panic, and you will get the score that you deserve. There is no miracle solution juste use common sense and do your best. As always be awake and try to understand what is going on , do not fuck up and look like an idiot before the test has started.

So finally you have a GO from the doctor and 3200m on the running test, with an normal IQ. You are ready for the security test. Basically this test has 3 differents meanings: First of all, create your security file that will follow you through your career. Second we want to know your whole life from day one to yesterday. And finally the NCO will have to decide if he thinks that you are an interesting candidate to the legion and if he believes that you will adapt to our system and way of life.

The most important thing to know about the legion's way of recruiting is that we do not work like the rest of the world. We do not give a fuck about the candidates, there are plenty. You have no rights (you are free to leave whenever you like). The word why?? is forbidden(it is not your fucking business) just do it. We dont care how fit or good you are, but when we ask you to do something, be ready, do it, and do it good. How to be ready? that is your fucking problem. Just be ready and do not complicate things or create problems.

If you are ready to adapt our way of life, way of thinking, way of working, and ready to forget the past. With an complete devotion. You might be the right man.

Many Waffen-SS volunteers, including many Wiking veterans, avoided punishment by joining the French Foreign Legion, and many ex-SS men fought and died at the Battle of Dien Bien Phu in 1954.

Canada's JTF2, no joke.

Read an article about a year ago, will try and find it. They were better then the Brits, US and Mossad. The JTF2 snipers were also rated best by Americans themselves in Afghanistan.

n 1967 while on a zoological trip near the Himalayas, author and zoologist George Robert Elford met and spoke with a man who was a former member of the Waffen-SS. His specialty was fighting the Soviet partisans which operated behind the German lines. After the war, he and some comrades escaped into France and joined the Foreign Legion where they were eventually sent to Indochina to combat the escallating war there. As they spoke into the night, Elford asked the man if he would tape his story, the man obliged with the proviso that his real identity would not be revealed. Elford agreed. Four years later, Devil's Guard was published.

In the thirty plus years since it's publication, this book has been surrounded by myth, hype and Lord knows what else. It has been denounced as neo-Nazi text and a manual for professional military men in fighting insurgency among other things. Others have disputed it's authenticity.

I will say this though; it's one heck of a read. If you've read this book, then you already know. If you haven't, well, let's just say that you don't pick this book up, you unholster it like you would a weapon.

It's got enough action in it to satisfy the most bloodthirsty reader. But it isn't all action. There's enough off battlefield incidents to save the book from being a third rate actioner. Yes, there are some sentiments uttered from the narrator (not Elford, but the SS man) that might be unsettling (none of it antisemitic), but one can say he stands by his convictions.

If you should spot a copy for cheap, don't think twice, just get it. You won't be sorry.

This incredible tale of combat was written by George Robert Elford and was based (according to the author) on first-hand interviews with "Hans Josef Wagemueller" (an alias, he refused to give his real name for obvious reasons), a former SS "partisan-jaeger" (guerrilla hunter) who miraculously survived the horrors of the Eastern front in World War II. He led a large group of German SS troops through Russian lines trying to reach Western Europe after he learned of the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany. Many didn't make it, and most of those that did escape from the Soviets joined the French Foreign Legion along with Hans.

The French were fighting a bloody war in Indochina and were so desperate for troops they didn't really care if their new recruits had been in the SS. Hans spent the next five years fighting against the fiercely determined Communist guerrillas, and he quickly learned to be just as cruel and heartless as his enemies. He rose through the ranks and became a respected (and feared) combat commander, using bold tactics that confused his enemies. There are plenty of vivid descriptions of his many missions, battles, bloody ambushes, etc, but somehow after reading this book I still thought that "Hans" did have a conscience. He was simply hardened by years of killing.

There is still a lot of debate about the authenticity of this book. Even if the story is totally fiction, it remains the best book on warfare I've EVER READ. Until this book gets republished (who knows when that'll be), you're gonna have a hard time finding a copy at a reasonable price. I was lucky enough to spot a PB edition for only 25 cents (yeah, eat your heart out!) at an antique mall and I quickly bought it. This book should be required reading for every history buff, and it should be used as a training manual for U.S. Special Forces! Highly recommended.

before it's reprint this paperback was selling for $100 minimum and up to $500

You won't find much info on the VB's or other covert black op's folks, the government won't confirm or deny the existance of them. Let the enemy keep guessing.

I have military on both sides of my family, but chose not to serve. I've read, researched and watched numerous military books/videos from the Vietnam war on and specifically covering covert black op's.

Tiger if you're looking for a good book to read, check out "Ghost Wars" by Steve Coll.

Just do a google search for Dien Bien Phu and you'll get pleanty of reading material.

The Viet Minh kicked the shit out of the French and essentially put an end to French control and influence in Vietnam.

We were the next dumbasses to try and run the Commies out.

Problem is the Vietnamese had basically been fighting off invaders and colonial control for the better part of 100 years. They N. Vietnamese, Viet Cong (Minh) are tough soldiers.

We (the Americans) had to learn the hard way...

Mordechai Vanunu (1954 - ) worked in Israel’s nuclear reactor at Dimona and leaked information and photographs detailing Israel’s nuclear capability to the British daily Sunday Times.

In October, 1986, shortly after the Times story was published, Mossad agents drugged and kidnapped Vanunu in Rome. He had been lured
to England by an undercover female Mossad agent who had started an affair with him. The Mossad needed to get him out of England because previously Israel had promised not to carry out intelligence operations in the country.

From Rome, the Mossad agents brought Vanunu to Israel where he was tried and received an 18-year prison sentence for leaking classified information and espionage. He served more than 11 years of his sentence in solitary confinement.

Vanunu was released from prison in April, 2004, but is subject to a number of speech and travel restrictions.

The French assembled their elite units at Dien Bien Phu in an attempt to cut Viet Minh supply lines and conduct sorties. Likewise, airdropped supplies were to be used to supply the garrison, not learning lessons from WWII much of the supplies fell into Viet Minh hands.

The French commander named the firebases after his mistresses. There was also a brothel train present, the prostitutes worked as impromptu nurses taking care of the wounded, just some random trivia you may not get from a site.

"It was now time for the infantry to 'get on stage'. Preceded by 'death volunteers' whose role was to blow themselves up to open a breach in the barbed wire surrounding the positions the bo-doï of vietminh division 312 launched their assault, using the 'human wave' tactic, recommended by their Chinese advisors who had employed it in Korea. Defended by less than 300 legionnaires, without any reinforcement nor evacuation possible, « Béatrice » resisted until the early hours of March 14, to more than 3000 vietminhs. All officers were KIA, except Capt Nicolas, taken prisoner and Lt Turpin who was captured wounded by the vietminh released to the French and evacuated to Hanoï the day after. Around 50 legionnaires managed to escape and join the central position through a tunnel which had been dug below one of the 3 hills of « Béatrice ».
This failure became all the more bitter that, during this same night, the highly respected Lt-Col Jules Gaucher, CO of 13DBLE (2 battalions 1/13 and 3/13 were present at DBP) and the most senior Legion officer of the garrison was also killed, along with Lt de Bretteville and Lt Bailly, by another direct shell hit on his command post, situated in the central position. Gaucher was the third CO of 13DBLE to be KIA in 12 years, after Lt-Col Amilakvari near El-Alamein in 1942 and Lt-Col Brunet de Sairigné in 1950 between Saïgon and Dalat."
march 16
"« Bigeard is back » ! The rumor spreads across the camp when it is known that 6BPC (Bataillon de Parachutistes Coloniaux), commanded by one of the most famous CO in Indochina is to be dropped on DBP in the afternoon.
This unit, along with 2/1 RCP (2¨me bataillon / 1er Regiment de Chasseurs Parachutistes) had participated 4 months earlier (Nov 20, 1953) in operation « Castor » aimed at seizing the site of DBP, occupied by a small vietminh force.
Apart from being a remarkable tactician, Maj Marcel Bigeard had the reputation of being very lucky. Supertitiously many defenders, believed he would bring some of his luck with him and after all, if Bigeard was coming back, this might mean that there was still some hope. Bigeard was in his third tour in Indochina. He was also a veteran of WWII, when he'd been trained by the Brits as a Jedburgh commando after managing to escape occupied France and join the Free French in London. He was dropped with his team in Ariige (Southwestern France) to help organize the local resistance. Many of his comrades officers didn't appreciate the way he was always promoting himself and pushing himself in front of the cameras. His Legion counterparts (CO of 1 & 2BEP) didn't like him much. For them modesty was part an officer's ethics and Bigeard was anything but modest !
On airborne alert since the day before, 6BPC takes off from Bach Mai military airport in Hanoi and is dropped after a one and a half hour flight on DZ « Simone », South of DBP, near stronghold « Isabelle » held by 3/3 REI of Col Lalande. With 6BPC is dropped ACP6 (Antenne Chirurgicale Parachutiste or Airborne Surgical Unit) of Lt (Medic) Vidal. This will be the last massive day drop. Because of the vietminh flak, the future airborne reinforcements will have to be dropped at night, in small groups, coy by coy.
After joining the central position and a strong argument with Lt-Col Langlais who has given orders directly to one his Coys, without asking him before (!), Bigeard is ordered to take position on a hill East of the camp, which will later be code-named « Eliane 4 »."
