There's something with rock bands with female vocals that just doesn't do it for me

They're from my town. I went to high school with the ex-guitarist's dad. They used to play at my place of work before they got famous. Hell, I mixed their CD release party. They were popular with all the little christian emo kids.

One by one, Amy's fired all the original members, they're not a band anymore, just Amy and her hired hands.

Her dad John is a funny guy, he's a local radio personality and also performs as a solo acoustic act. At one charity benefit show the host introduced him as "The Father of Evanescence" and he replied "I just want to make it clear that I didn't father the whole band, just the chick singer". Amy's got a 16 year old little sister who already has a stronger voice than Amy's, and she plays piano too. Her songs are okay but her band sucks. And Ben Moody's little brother has a band too.

Oh, the music? Bleah. Formulaic pap. Ben uses the same formula when he co-writes with and produces for Avril Levigne and Kelly Clarkson, which is why their later hits sound like Evanescence-Lite.
