Think of Hogan in his prime. Something else you gotta consider is, sure there is a bigger audience now, but for the true wrestling fan, who is/was bigger?
Who is/was a bigger phenomenon: Hogan or The Rock?

Better profits for the WWF has nothing to do with being a "phenomenon."

Different era all together.
Today people see a different wrestling product then 10 years ago.
Cable television is pretty much in most homes so everyone just about has access.
More pay per views.
The net generates more excitement
Wrestling is more mainstream.
You can't really compare, in Hulk' s defense though his reign as an icon lasted longer.
People were saying the same thing about Stone Cold 2 years ago, now lots of people are slagging him and saying he has seen better days.
People have to remember that without the promoters of wrestling allowing for the push of these wrestlers they would not be where they were period.
And remember before Hulk, there were people like Andre The Giant who were considered big time. In fact Andre was probably more famous throughout the world longer and in today's dollars made more money then these guys did.

2 guys who will surpass Hulk, stone cold or the rock as long as they remain healthy and enthusiatic
Kurt Angle: That guy has not been in wrestling long, yet he can wrestle like a mofo and can cut a promo to make you wither love him one day or hate him the next. Very adaptable
Triple H: Will be even bigger, this guy has the physique, can do the promo's ecellent and the man can wrestle with anyone, hardcore or old school.
Those 2 are going to taje it to the next level, in fact when triple H returns I can see Steiner coming back as he will be injury free by then and those 2 are going to rock the house..
Lots of other guys like RVD and The hardy's could do alot, but frankly they are too kamikaze and I would be surprised if they are still around in the next year or 2.

No question Hogan. He was a bigger icon and less people were watching wrestling then too boot. Hogan was like South Park when it was hot. His shit was everywhere and he had his own cartoon too.
