Who is shredded...........

All the time? I mean, I'm pretty lean...actually, too lean for my liking, but sometimes I can see my abs plain as day and other days/times I can hardly see them when I flex in good light....my diet doesnt change too much, so I'm confused.........it's like I got this layer that fades them out, but only certain times of the day...........confused......
 
I've been a runner/soccer player for more than half of my life. I can firmly say that my bodyfat was never higher than 8-9%, but then again I have never weighed more than 176lbs at 5'8", and that didn't last long:o
usually I fluctuate between 167-173lbs, and desired weight is to be 180 lbs permanent at 7% bf..

What's 'shredded' to you?
 
the two ways I can tell if I'm there is 1 - are my abs crystal clear any time of the day and #2 - striated hamstrings and the chrstmas tree lower back........you there?
 
haha, my abs have been 'crystal clear' naturally all my life - I was always very active. I remember as a kid I didn't know shit about nutrition and was eating the worst type of junk, while sipping down soda's by gallons and gained not a single ounce of fat. BUt the things changed, so now I only eat 'clean' foods and abs are a no prob.
Hamstrings - suck. overall my legs are my weak point probably due to excessive running and over all endurance load on them.
Lower back 'christmas tree' - I got it; also have the line of separation in chest, although my chest is one of underdeveloped muscle groups for me.
Over all I would say my muscles are defined due to low bodyfat, not the mass (I ain't got none at ~170lbs), plus my musculature is primarily comprised of smaller fast twitch fibers :o
 
with me, even though im sorta fatty, so it may be different, i can sorta see my abs sometimes when im hungry, or after exersise, because without realizing it, i sort of suck in a bit and flex them, but if i eat and get full my tummy just bulges out and i dont see anything...

also water?
 
has everyone just forgot to mention lighting? it's the reason why you tan/oil up to get the definition to show if you're into bodybuilding.

i change skin colours, my tan comes and goes quickly. so in the summer months, i'm like a martin luther king with small eyes, and in the winter, if i am in the sunlight, i look like a flashbang, pure white.
 
have you payed attention to what types of foods and water intake/diuretics.. dunno about you but these can make a major differenence for me.

I can go from seeing little abdominal definition to like a 4 pack in a few days if I play my cards right.
 
about the water thing... may not be healthy, but just drink less. sometimes if i don't get enough water before bed, i'm cut to bits when i get up in the morning (and a few pounds lighter)
 
Depends on your definition of shredded. I usually don't get over 8%, but my 8% looks like alot of other people's 10%. Meaning, I look fatter than I am when I'm at 8%.
 
I'm shredded .... underneath all of this fat! :D

For real tho, I'm at 182 and 5'8" with just a small bit of fat around the midsection. I can see my upper abs but the lower abs are hidden by my slight belly. By May that little fat will be gone and I'll have nice abs again.

So in short, no I'm not shredded. :(
