Who here knows teeth?

Do you need the rearmost molars?

Not the wisdom teeth, I already had those taken out.

I guess "need" is a relative term - but in the dental sense, how important are they?

I'm having a lot of issues with mine and I think I'm at the point where I just want them yanked out - but I don't know what that will cause to happen.

I know a lot about a lot of different things - but what happens when you remove those teeth... not on the list of stuff I know.

Anyone here had them pulled out?

Anyone here like pudding?

You should have them pulled out and replaced with smaller gold teeth. Maybe you could even put a bedazzle gem into the center of each one and walk around with a little dental mirror to show people your pimpin' teeth.

When I was younger, my mom paid a lot of money to have braces on my teeth. When the perfectionist orthodontist lady took the rear bands off, they tore off a lot of enamel. What wasn't torn off got filed down by a rotary sander thing.

Time passed... I got cavities in the side of every single molar. Not through the top, in the side. The dentists told me that is rare.

The rearmost ones are the worst.

After I had my wisdom teeth taken out, the gums receded as they filled in the space from where the wisdom teeth were.

So now I have cavities on the rearmost molars, and the gums are pulling away from them exposing the roots.

The dentist always treats me as if I'm retarded and brush my teeth with brillo and sandpaper, pushing down hard and when not doing that, only eating sand and sugar, after that willing more pain on myself.
Only one dentist has suggested that it was because the tissue was receding back to fill in the space. Even then, he seemed to imply that it was my choice for it to do that.

I brush with a soft brush 3 times a day. At night I floss and rinse with Listerine and ACT.

I fucking hate going to the dentist, but my rear teeth are now causing a dull ache in my head all of the time.

Maybe you should ask the dentist what they think. Too bad I didn't go into something dental instead of doing this whole nursing school thing. Then I could give you meaningful advise.

But since I can't, I'll tell you lies.

i think you could survive without those rear molars but you may have a hard time knawing on that beef jerky you love so much. just ask the dentist how important those chompers are and go from there. maybe you just need a root canal and a crown.

Pulling a tooth costs hardly anything and you heal pretty fast.

Root canal and/or especially a crown costs a lot more and takes longer in the process.

The reason I would like to find out more about it from others is that the dentist stands to make more money by going one way over the other.

A lady I used to work for had almost all of her molars removed and she got along just fine as far as I know. She told me that she felt no discomfort from it and ate normal foods.

Isn't Bermuda a British territory? Or used to be?
