i get classic pieces that will stay in style and are made well from club monaco or the gap or wherever...

i tend to buy trendy tops that are cheap and don't hurt when i toss them when they're out of style.

buy well-made shoes.

My CK jeans feel better than my old "found-these-on-the-floor" jeans. My Kenneth Cole shirts feel better than my "3-pack of hanes" shirts.

You have a point about the shirts. If I'm gonna be stuck in a shirt and tie at work I'll go with Hugo Boss over some no-name brand anyday.

Generally tho, I'd say that style is #1 when it comes to brand names. Higher quality clothes (read: more expensive) look waaaay better. I'm not an artist or a designer -- so I have no idea why but they just do.

That's some sorry ass shit...I honestly couldn't give 1/2 a termite shit what some girl is wearing, only important thing is that she looks good...honestly in a way I hope that my choice in clothing drives away the chicks who really are into that kind of stuff, because I'm not.

Besides, take 2 guys, same face, one guy has real nice clothes, average body, other guy has average clothes, real nice body, guess who get's the most attention...

But I will take your guy's advice and get myself a pair of 'nice clothes' that I will wear in appropriate situations whenever that is, rest of the time, I'll go in what I feel like....

Again I stress, any chick who was attracted to me but deemed my clothing 'unnaceptable' is NOT a girl I'm interested in.
