Who has Verizon FIOS TV and Internet?

I have it. It's better than anything else in terms of picture quality. They're getting a bunch of new HD channels. All is going well. The On Demand stuff works slow but fuck it, I'll live with it. The DVR could have more capacity as well. ehhh, it's still better than Cable.

Internet is 20down/5 upload speed. unlimited phone service, and TV for $95/month. I got it for $85 though. PLUS... all the other boxes in the house HD, DVR etc... it adds up. Still pretty good IMO.

had it for 2 months. they lied about the cost of service. had 3 different reps tell me 140 a month for all 3 services, 2 boxes - 1 hd dvr, and every cable network but hbo. the bill was for 184 a month. also, when i signed up they said they didnt have an international calling plan. my wife was on the phone to italy for 14 minutes that month and it cost 80 just for that. when i questioned the rep he said i should have paid for their international calling plan.

i cancelled, went back to optimum who gave me all 3 services, 2 dvr hd boxes, every cable channel, and international calling for 170 a month.

I have it
got it installed in Dec 07'
when it was "$99 pr month and free 19" HD toshiba or sharp TV"

Fast forward eight plus months and I have no free tv still, along with many consumers.

The product is siiiick!
I'm also running at 20 mgs, internet speeds are great
No Movie packages
Free NFL network(bonus! Swing!)
anyhow with two multi room HD DVRs, and one basic HD box and taxes my monthly bill is aroung $175+

Their customer service is lacking
they grew in the tv market WAAAY faster than they were capable of, but that is to be expected.

Point being
Nothing is "free" and there are no deals when you factor in all the taxes, boxes, fcc fees, etc etc

I'd still go with it though

best HD quality picture
out of ANY service
BAR NONE

dude, international calling costs coin for the most part
I think it was a little naive for you andyour wife to EXPECT to call fucking china or something and not get charged up the ying yang
free "nationwide", meaning U.S.A
not f--n whole world calling

you got lucky with your new service offering to you
they probably had no choice as most cable companys are being demolished by Fiber optic service

also, how did you cancel? Did you get charged they have a minimum 1-2 yr commitment, and for me to cancel it's $175

I apologize
re-read your post and you did ask if they had international calling plans
The rep on the phone must have not known jack shit

I'm thinking of calling them screaming that if I don't get money off since I haven't recieved a TV I'm gonna go to the BBB and also cancel because they didn't hold up to their end of the deal.
Anyone agree?
what should I say?

yea, they scammed me with the phone service. thats why she only called for 14 minutes. i had her time her calls fearing the cost. her whole family is there, shes usually on the phone with them for 15 minutes a day.

heres the funny part. they told me it was 175 to cancel. optimum would pay that one time fee for me to go back to their service. i cancel. they never bill me. tell me they are not sending the free tv, which i figured, and like 3 days later the tv shows up. i never sent the tv back. until they ask for it fuck them.

my friend never got his tv. a few of my neighbors have gotten the scam fees too. the optimum people sent a hot ass cougar to offer me the new package and i said no way. she said wait till after your first billing period then call me. she was 100% right. not sure what calling the bbb would do. calling verizon customer service is the worst so you might not get a thing out of them. call optimum and see what they will offer you.

 typical of verizon to screw you over and shitty customer service. i think they are under staffed and their workers are about to go on strike. almost all tv, phone, internet service providers love to screw you over. i'm hoping aol goes out of business, they deserve it.

If you want to call International get Skype with a VOIP/Skype phone. it's pretty hard to beat that.
