Wouldn't something like "rationing" smokes work? Like if you typically smoke 20 or so a day (sounds like a massive number to me, but I'm sure there are people who can look at that and go "20? Lol... pussy"), maybe reduce that number each week until the desire is eventually gone. Like 20 a day first week, 15 a day second week, 10, 4, 5, 3, 2, 1, 0 (lol, looks like a cycle prescription or something).
Or just add up all the money you spend on smokes to shock you into quitting. I calculated my friend's annual spending on cigarettes before he quit. Came out to about $1,500 a year. $1,500 a year into a modest mutual fund = over $2 million bucks by retirement age. Think about it.
