Who has Sirius here?

theoak01 said:
ive worked with guys who had both,xm is far better, you get nfl,and nhl on it also, and unless you want stern sirius isnt really as good imo

Sirius has all the sports. XM sucks. Get the Sportster receiver and dock it however you want in your ride. That is all.

sirius has the rights to all sports except mlb, thats on xm.

its easy to set up in your car. I have the starmate and its worked out great. The Hip Hop stations are pretty good as well.

thanks y'all. don't worry bout content, sirius is what I want (listened to it many many times).

spoke with a buddy of mine who has it and he told me if he ahd to do it all over again he would get the sportser.

i have the sportster, works good. it is easy to set up in the car, it can be a pain in the ass in the house trying to find a window to point the antena out. i also found that the fm transmitter to play on another radio only reaches out a few feet in the house, so you have to pretty much be in the same room as the receiver, the nfl and stern make it well worth the money to get it.

I had mine installed so there is no adapter it just works with my regular radio setup, didn't want anything cluttering up my interior. It was expensive though. But great job picking Sirius, Stern's show is so freaking addicting and funny uncensored. Arty is just insane hahaha.

When I did my individual research on the different setups though, the Sportster did seem like my favorite. Did you consider the S50? Don't know if you like it to be mobile. Also, you don't need a dock at home anymore a lot of the stations are offered on the Internet now (even Stern!)

I have the sportser (replay) I think it is called - I love it. Bought the home kit and just go back and forth from the car to home - Wont use the regular radio anymore

we made a 14 hr trip to fla last week and i never lost reception once and my dial never left howard 100, i know a few people who have sirius and a few have xm, a majority of the xm'ers wished they would have got sirius.

What exactly is involved in installing it in your car? And the "home kit" - isn't that just a boom box that you drop the receiver into??

my home kit for the sportster was a small cradle deal to hold the receiver, with an antenae to sit on the window, and a power cord. the indoor reception is the biggest pain in the ass with it. the boombox is sold seperatly and i havent heard anything about it good or bad as far as reception, etc.

May get it for Xmas. What receiver thing do you have? Do you have a dock or whatever for home listening? Is it difficult to set up iun your car?

Thanx

:wavey: dock in car, dock at home, dock in office. . .plug and play in minutes. . .very simple :)

I knew a guy called Siruis. I even met his mother and she was one of the sternest people I've ever met. I hate dealing with a Sirius mater and she was very serious.

mine has the outside antenna, drop the unit in the dock, tune the dial to 88.1, viola. . .

should have finished the above. . .

. . .listening to satellite radio at 500 watts through my polks. . .no damn boombox for me :)

Not sure which model radio I have, but it's a pain in the ass IMO to get reception....of course I just have it sitting on the front seat of my car and the antenea bouncing around the dashboard....but I listen to stern every day online from work and it's what gets me through the day
