Who has had a suitcase searched by customs?

Victorian guy

New member
Has anyone here ever had a piece of luggage (NOT carry-on) searched at an airport by customs? I can't see how this would be feasible, as most travellers arriving at major airports (with customs checks) are catching connecting flights...

Not that I am planning on packing gear in my suitcase then flying to the USA or Canada, of course.

Yes. I was flying to the States from United Arab Emirates last winter, four months after 9-11, and damn! They searched all of my bags, every single one of them. And what did they find? five switch-blades, a fake beard, and $20,000 cash. Highly suspicious, I guess. That's why upon my arrival to the States, I was almost immediately taken to some remote room with a camera, and a bunch of people questioned me for an hour. Took my switchblades, too. Fuckers. Those knives were nice... Three words for you, Victorian: don't do it.
By the way, you have any new stories?

Email me and I'll give you an idea how to do it safely, without the breifcase. I'd post it but you never know who will read this.

When arriving in the us from out of country you have to pick up all your baggage and then go thru customs. Since you have everything you packed you are susceptable to a seach at their discretion. They also have drugs and guards around all the conveyors.

Last year 1 month after 9/11 I was going to Vegas to watch the Mr. O. I had my check in luggage searched. They pulled me to a back room nearby and began to search my bag. They found an unopened syringe and said it was fine since it's being checked and it wasn't open. Luckily they didn't find my 10cc amp filled with Test and EQ. At first I though I forgot it at home. The minute we got out of the airport in Vegas I checked, and sure as shit there it was. Needless to say I just about shit my pants when that dude opened my bag. Ya know what though, I'd do it again.

lol, my mom was over the other day with new job ideas for me as usual....one of them was the "government job" of the guys who search people at the gates at the Palm Beach Intl Airport. Supposedly they are beefing up the staff hardcore as far as the walk-on searches go. i felt like saying "hey ma i'm not no narc!". lol. but when she said starting at like $35-40K a year with benefits.....i was like well maybe its not such a bad idea :D. BTW: they are motherfuckers down here in WPB and miami as far as searching everything now. takes like 3 hours to get anywhere from front gate to the plane now, i wouldn't take shit with me even when i pass by the airport to get to I-95 down here :FRlol:.

You will have to make a story of customs bro if you get a chance. It don't sound like safe option unless put into a different , plastic container of sorts.

I was leaving berlin with some gear on me. During the pat down they felt it. I was strip-searched in a German customs facility. They found two pins, a bottle of tren and winny. Needless to say I was a bit scared. However, it turns out that gear is not illegal in Germany and they let me go on my merry way!

I got searched coming back from Cancun. I was the only one in our group of 20 that got searched. They checked my docs, the broad scribbled something on it and told me to take it to this other guy. He looked at me, told me to take the suitcase over to the table and i was to be searched. They fucking went through everything, even my dirty clothes. Here is the best part...I had $300 worth of gear taped to my crotch area! talk about sweating bullets! If they would have patted me down i would have been toast.

i'm searched EVERY time i go through customs. i think its my red hair; makes me stand out. Never got caught with anything on me either. Airlines will never book an international flight with less than an hour or two connection times, unless you're going directly to another country, then you dont go through customs, but cant leave the connection area...
