You have to go now, Thaibox.:)

When the contest organizer calls you to personally answer any questions, you have to go.

Not my intentions at all. I always believe that anyone can do anything if they want to. I've came a long way over the past 10 years...from near death at 152 pounds through many health problems and injuries to be where I am now (around 290).

I am just about to finally earn my College degree (never thought it would happen, taken me nearly 8 years).

I am also with a WONDERFUL woman whom I hope to marry and start a family with soon (Lord, after my past experiences over the past year or so...I NEVER thought that this would happen).

I have learned that you have to try. You never have to make an A or be 'perfect' for the other person in the relationship...you just have to try. Trying means a lot in school as well in relationships...but it means SOOO MUCH in Strongman.

NEVER worry if you can do something or not. One member of THIS board competes in Strongman and in 2002 his mother competed in the women's division in Boston. She was in her 60's if I remember correctly. When it came to the tire flip the women had to flip a 450 pound tire for 100' and many competitors finished the event easily...including Jill Mills (World's Strongest Woman) and Heini K (runner up). When this 'older' woman gave her attempt to flip the tire she fought a single flip near the time limit of 75 seconds. I remember that the tire hit the ground (completing the one flip) just as the buzzer went off and not a soul was sitting down or being quiet... She TRIED!!!! THAT is Strongman...

Dude...I dont know anyone who can watch without seriously wanting to take a shot at the events. Its cool to watch, but if I were you I would go ahead and enter...even if you dont have any implement experience, you will have a great time, and learn alot, along with being able to tell people that you compete in strongman! You will definitely be glad that you sent your entry in,if you do.

i swear this guy is like the tony robbins of strongman. if this man can't inspire you to do something with yourself then who can? he's just there to help so many ppl if they need it. one of these days he's gonna be someones pr speaker, recruiting speaker, inspirattional speaker or something. He can motivate a knot on a log.

sorrry b, not tryin to call ya out or anything but alot of people can motivate me, but you are one of the people who can truly inspire me. he's just a really good person and friend.

ill back you up 100% on that one. Very few people motivate me, even less make me not want to let them down, B fold is one of those people. At the last contest i did good on the log just becuase im a good presser. ok on the yoke. but when i got to the tire, is when i feel i did my best. why??? B fold stood about 6 feet from me and walked with me the whole 80 feet screaming and cheering me on. And im very thankful for that. also when i droped the farmers the 2nd time, he was the first person i looked to becuase i didnt want to let him down. i really consider him a friend.

exactly! if there were more ppl like that it would be a better place.lol he is one of a kind. and never lets you quit no matter what and thats how it should be, you should push yourself until the time is up and your mind thinks it cant take anymore but then you push farther and show it that you can.

Its not that I dont' want to try. Trust me, it will hurt to watch you guys play with the heavy toys and not play too. I would love to. I'd be like the jealous little poor kid:)

I'm still dealing with my last surgery, and awaiting my next. Most importantly, I'm going through the hiring processs in law enforcement. If I do anything that jeopordizes my hiring on, I'm totally fucked. Since I'm engaged now, I have to use my head. Considering that deadlifting 135# drops me to the ground for hours, I'm pretty sure its a safe bet that most events simply wouldn't happen.

So, if watching is all I can do for now, that's good enough for me. I just think it would be very cool to meet the people that are going, and watch the events, trying my best to help motivate:)

Let me tell you, watching the events as a spectator is a lot of fun. You get to yell for everyone, even those that you don't know.
...chad...
