WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU???????

I on a rare occasion have decided to put on the tube, after a long hiatus away.

it has literally been a year and a half since, I self imposed a "TV

EXILE" on myself...........and all I can say is that I feel sad inside.

the TV was suppost to be a vehicle, in the addition to the

learning process.....not a subtraction from it.

.............sure there should be entertainment, and

balance.........but my GOD......what would your ancestors, your

blood, of those you respect....think if they were to see the dark,

twisted humor, morality and ethical constructs projected by the

TV industry.............

truly a down ward spiral leading to an abyss.........

They would ask for popcorn and what channel had the best porn. They were no different than us, they just didn't have great real time access.

We don't watch much TV here but when we do, it's usually something educational like TLC, Discovery, History, PBS, etc. My kids are 9 and 5 so we limit what they watch. I know they are going to learn bad things from TV but it doesn't hurt to delay the process. Even the Disney channel has bad things on it. Pretty tough when your 9 year old comes to you and ask you what is a virgin. She got that off the Disney channel! I don't know what the answer is.

The thing that pissies me off more than anything is when you have the family together and watching a family show then it cuts to commercials....say ABC, NBC, CBS, etc. and the advertisements for other shows comes on. They put scenes from those shows and there is always parts from the shows with cussing and killing and so on! That's really disturbing. They don't need to do that. They could use better judgement on that! In general, TV isn't what it used to be. Give the reruns like, The Andy Griffith Show, Leave it to Beaver, etc., where the situations and events teach a lesson of morals! That's my take on TV!

also to expound on this comment, TV, more or less reflects our society as a whole. If trash-like shows were not viewed, they would not be on.
